Songs you like from bands you don't

Don't recall having a thread like this, but I know we all have bands that we just don't get into, may be a big deal with everyone else, but we would never plunk down the payola for one of their CDs. However, every once in awhile even a band we detest will put out a song that we just can't resist, maybe even a "if they did more like this, I'd like 'em" kinda thing. Anyway...

I'm not a fan of the Doors. At all. But I do like the song "Touch Me", mainly for the production - it just has that late '60s horns 'n such thing going and for once Manzarek isn't making my ears bleed with his keyboards.

Also not much I like about Jethro Tull, but "Bungle In The Jungle" has always been a favourite.

tons of songs by bands I'd never buy a cd from. remember Bad English and thier "when I see you smile" crap? They had a song released right before that called "forget me not" and it's awsome. Teasin' Pleasin by Dangerous toys..mostly 80's hair band stuff...

Good topic because it happens all the time....

"Bad" by U2. I really don't like the band that much but this song just kills me. I especially like the version they did at Live Aid in '85.

"Fortunate Son" by Creedence. The constant over-use of the 4/4 drum beat just annoys the hell out of me, although I do respect what they did musically.

"Shout it out loud" by Kiss. Sorry but I just can not stand Kiss. I'd rather drop a bowling ball on my nuts than listen to Paul Stanley sing but I do like this song.

Weezer: Hashpipe. Amazingly enough, this song doesn't make me want to take a hostage like pretty much anything else they've written.

"Hero Of The Day" - Metallica
"Lay It Down" - Ratt
"I Drove All Night" - Cyndi Lauper (some wicked backing guitar in this tune)
"Live To Tell" - Madonna (if all her tunes were as powerful as this I'd be a fan)
"Don't Look Back" - Fine Young Cannibals
"Come With Me" - Puff Daddy (yes, a brutal raping of Kashmir....but a raping that Jimmy Page had a hand in nonetheless)

Like A Prayer -Madonna I hate Madonna, but I like this song, I love the church choir singing in it too.

Take Me Away - Fe Fe Dobson. (All the other songs I heard by her are bad, this song rocks though)

Beat It, Black Or White, Thriller -Michael Jackson

Are You Gonna Go My Way -Lenny Kravitz ( I bought the CD this song is on, just for this song, but this is the only song I like on it!

Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) -Cinderella (Cinderella is one of the few 80's bands I don't like, mainly because of their lousy singer. This is a nice ballad though, I love the video too.

Love Is Only A Feeling -The Darkness (This is the only song by this band that I like. I don't like their singer either!

)

I'm In a Hurry, (and don't know why) - Alabama

Suspicious Minds -Elvis (I never got into Elvis, but I really like this song.)

The Flame -Cheap Trick (This is a great ballad. I don't like Cheap Trick though. Especially their drummer and guitar player, they are so uncool live and on their videos.

"Fox on the Run" by Sweet, I never really got into the whole early 70's English Galm Rock scene, but this one I always turn up.

"Gemeni Dream" by the Moody Blues. Never liked them much but this one's not bad.

"Just Like Heaven" by the Cure. Never got into them at all.

I'm sure there's many more.

Who made who. AC/DC..never liked them, but wmw is good.
Not a big Stones fan, but Give Me Shelter is awesome imo.
