    Default RRHOF Induction Ceremony Tickets

So I fired off an e-mail the other day to the executive offfices of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I wanted to know if tickets were going to be made available to the public for the 2007 induction ceremony in NYC, and if so what the cost would be. Needless to say, I was shocked by the answer!

The response that I received said that tickets were first made available to platinum level donors and those who were members. I was told that if I would I like to become a member, they would be happy to assist me. Tickets to the induction ceremony are sold by tables of ten. I could purchase my table for the low low rice of $25,000!

This reminds me of the Superbowl... no real fans get to go, just a bunch of corporate sponsors who are rooting for "the team in blue". I guess I'll have to buy the DVD; unless that costs more than $100. How about leave a few tickets for the rest of us, or at least award them to some lucky fans?

I liked your typo here; rice is all you'll be eating after buying a table.

Why is the induction ceremony in New York but the Hall itselof in Cleveland? I guess it makes sense w/ so much media in NYC, but after going through all the trouble to actually build the building, it seems like maybe you would do it there.

It's a very small building.....I don't think it could even support more than a bar crowd for a show.

the HOF foundation's excuse is that there aren't enough first-class hotels in Cleveland, and that the media infastructure isn't here like it is in NYC or LA, and that it's hard to get a flight into Cleveland.

one induction ceremony was held here, but i can't remember if it was at the Ritz-Carlton ballroom or not. i do remember hearing tickets were at least $10k.

Me 'neither. Didn't know they sold dvd's of the shows tho. The price for a ticket is a rip off but probably just right for all the suits.

It'd only be worth it if ALL of them were there....three singers, three instrumentalists, all on the same stage.

Shit, there's gotta be 25 of us that'd pony up 1k apiece for that. Worth it alone for witnessing live and in person the most awkward moment in rock history hands down.

Chriminy, that would be absolutely both pathetic and a friggin' joke. Just as this band has been since 1985.
