Latest Rumor - Van Halen on new Monster's of Rock tour? Profile Pm Email www Search Buddy IP

    Check this link out...

Halfway into the article they mention:

"Monsters of Rock is expected back next summer and rumoured bands set to appear include WHITESNAKE, AC/DC and even VAN HALEN! THUNDER are bound to be involved in some shape of form as they own the rights to the MOR name and logo."
Someone said promoter's tol them to go to Europe first as I recall....

Interesting rumour. My question is, if this went ahead with that line-up, who would headline? I'd reckon that AC/DC would be the headliners in the UK. Would Van Halens ego not get in the way of them not being able to headline? Who knows they may even be 3rd on that bill.

    Okayyyyy

monters of rock ala 88 all over again, with such headliners Whitesnake
and um yet I say, VAN HALEN? If this is true, or rather rumor for now, can you imagine how popular wolfie will be when this is over? Can you imagine the horrific comments that would be made when all 3 1/2 show up on stage and the crowd chants ! MIKEY!! MIKEY!!

Im sure Dave (should this happen), get a great applause.

AL & Ed should get a could clap out of this too

I just can't picture them giving a bow after the show and wolfie in the middle.
All songs written and performed by:

Edward Van Halen: Lead Guitars, Backround vocals
    Sammy Hagar: Lead Vocals, Acoustic/Guitars
    Michael Anthony: Bass/ Backround Vocals
    Alex Van Halen: Drums/Percussions/Back Vocals
Sammy Hagars solos available on Geffen
Special Thanks to: Valerie, Wolfie, Sue, Kari,Claudio for introducing the RedRocker to us Al's Harem and kids, Elisha, Taylor, Kama/ all the fans past and present: all recordings done at "5150" where else! A nod and wink to Ed Leffler.
Irving Azoff/ All the staff at Warner Bros. past and present/ Gary Cherone for giving his all/ David Lee Roth for getting us there and oh yea Ray Daniels, for keeping the bathrooms clean during all the performances. Oh yea, your fucking check is in the mail and next time you whip your bullshit on us again, where taking your ass to Cabo and pounding mud up your ass till you cough up sand for the loss of 8 years. nuff said, IT"S 5150 TIME

It does make sense because you already have a number of people attending and they don't have to sell tickets on there own they are a PART of a large show with many other bands. Giving Wolfie less pressure and a way of getting several thousand in the seats. And letting skeptical promoter's in the U.S. a chance to see the band with Wolfie in action.

    Yikes.

I can't even begin to think about what kinda of clusterfuck that would be.

Man, I hate all day rock fests.

There's no way AC/DC opens for VH, in Europe or the States. And I'd be utterly shocked - presuming Dave IS the singer for whatever the fuck manifests from Ed next year, if anything - if Dave accepted an opening slot for anybody or anything, including God or Armageddon itself.

Nah....methinks not. Joining a summer-long metal fest would take away the 'grandeur' of a Dave and Ed reunion. Dave's got too much ham and business savvy to let that happen.

But....if Dave is NOT the singer, and it's some new form of 'Van Halen' with the kid and - cough - a 4th singer....then I can see Halen joining something like this to test the waters while amongst others of their kind. Safety runs in a pack.

Lame, I'm out if that's the case.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Yes but remember Van Halen are NOT that popular in Europe. Remember they had to open for Bon Jovi in '95 even sammy said in a interview he was suprised at the reception VH got overseas it wasen't great. Besides they would really playing for the U.S. promoters and fans like a audition.

I agree with the youngster from a coupla' posts up, all day rock festivals suck!! That said, you line up VH, of any sorts, Ac Dc, Whitesnake, and a couple of other quality bands from that era, and maybe even a Pearl Jam too boot?? You will have a bunch of old geezers lined up with their wallets open, and mastercard numbers a' flying to be there. Cha-Ching....the promoters would be drooling at the chops...will it happen? Nah!

    Now wait a minute...

"Van Halen" will not be a part of said bill if it were to even happen. Why? Cos there's no "Mikey." So where do you even come off chiming in an answer, ya "purist?" lol
