FBI Looking Into Something I Suspected Long Ago (UFO Related)
Back in the 1990s, I got sucked into the UFO "scene". The only reason I this was possible was because I'd seen one in 1985, up until then I didn't believe in them and by 1985 I was a huge airplane buff. You could find me at the airport watching 737s taking off and at airshows sporting a woody as military aircraft did their thing. So that fateful night I saw a low-flying ball of light I thought it was a UH-60 (Blackhawk), Army choppers were common in Monterey county back then. This one was acting different, most Army birds would haul-ass down the coast on their way to Hunter-Liggett, this thing was flying low and slow aproximately 2 miles from where I was , I was walking home at around 10:15pm. The second thing that was strange was that I couldn't hear it, helecopters are loud and we could always hear them from up to five miles away. I wrote this off to atmospheric conditions. As I walked down the hill I watched it fly and then stop and hover, when it stopped a second, brighter searchlight would shoot out from the bottom so I figured that this guy was looking for something, maybe there'd been a plane crash. The Army always helped in search and rescue and so I was satified that I was looking at an Army chopper on a search mission. I watched it for almost five minutes as it passed down the mountain and out over Carmel Bay, where it stopped and came to a hover for about 20 seconds...then it shot straight up into the sky and vanished.
I've told that story here before. It's the only reason I can give for later getting into the silly world of the UFO culture.
Now, there are some wonderful people who are actively into UFOs, they come from a variety of backrounds and proffessions, the one thing they all have in common is that they're "Outside the Box" thinkers. Then you have Narcisist - Loons, these folks are responsible for of the wild and crazy stuff that has come out of the UFO community since 1988. Alien Abduction, Crop Circles and just about every wild story can be traced back to one of these people. I sat through meeting where these people told stories - relayed to them directly by Alien beings - about alien culture and alien motives on Earth. I noticed that the Alien's world view usually mirrored these people's political and social views. God help you if you floated a theory that differed from their Alien Manifesto. These people were not interested facts, in fact the UFO community is divided between the"Hearts & Minds" people and the "Nuts & Bolts" folks. Being a nut, I fell into the second catagory because I knew airplanes, I had a brother in the Air Force Intelligence branch and I had a basic understanding of physics. The "Hearts & Minds" folks not only don't care about documenting facts and doing a little backround into a sighting they will become openly hostile if you question anything they've said.
These folks are the reason I got away from the UFO field:
They kicked me out because they thought I was a government spy.
I'm not kidding.
Anyway, there was a smaller eliment of people that I came across in the UFO community who always bothered me. These people would usually come to a meeting one time, if they returned it would be a few months later. They were always alone, well dressed professional looking and came across as educated people. Even if they came to a meeting wearing blue jeans they kind of stood out, at least to me. These people bothered me because they usually had UFO story of their own but they wouldn't share it with the group. These people would sit silently durring the meetings and then afterwords they would approach the members who'd initiated a rational discussion, never the people who were in psychic contact with the Reptilians. Needless to say they'd track me down after the meeting and usually want to "Share their story" with me over coffe somewhere else. I'm a curious guy so I usually went with them and killed an hour talking with them. It didn't dawn on me until the fifth time this happened that these people - might - be government types, and not necessarily our government either. The first one was a beautiful blond woman in her late 30s, I was thinking of asking her anyway but she came up to me after the meeting and said she had a story that she had to tell "Somebody". So over coffe she tells me this, well..unique story about how she'd been having an affair with guy who was visiting here from another galixy. Yes, I know, I thought the same thing too, but I politely listend to her story. It had a lot of detail, the guy could bring her to orgasm using telepathy and sometimes would give her an orgasim at work just for fun. Needless to say, the guy never gave her anything from his planet that would prove anything. What I didn't catch onto was that her story took about fifteen minutes to tell and then the rast of the time she asked me questions.
Some of these questions I would be asked again durring a psyche test for Law Enforcement about two years later. This lady was profiling me, bitch.
Over the next three years I would have similar experiences with strangers tracking me down after meetings, telling me a wild story over coffe and then getting me to talk about stuff. One guy tracked me down a few days later at work and took me to lunch. He had maps and wanted a lot of detail about what he'd find in certain areas that I had reconned (The Air Force had been active remote parts of Big Sur, setting up mobile telescopes and radar. They said that the telescopes were for filming missile tests from Vandenberg AFB, but they were pointed in the wrong direction). This guy came back a few months later and offered to pay me to go "Recon" areas in Antelope Valley and the north end of Nellis AFB in Nevada. The money was pretty good but the idea of freezing my ass off in the desert and possibley getting arrested didn't appeal to me so I declined. I always wondered about that guy because the UFO I saw, as well as other credible sightings, were nowhere near sensative military installations. Later it occurred to me that he was hoping I'd video/photgraph secret aircraft and that maybe he was a spy, but I had just wasted 7 years of my life researching UFOs so my judgement was questionable.
Then today I found this story:

It kind of sent chills down my spine. I'm glad I got away from the UFO thang when I did."Nothing is ever what it seems but everything is exactly what it is." - B. Banzai

That is kind of creepy. I remember from a couple of years ago your mentioning that many of these "abductee" types where basically unhinged people clouding the waters of genuine UFO research with their own selfish concerns, and now it would appear that there was an even more sinister truth beneath some of it.

FAA blames UFO report on weird weather
POSTED: 8:46 a.m. EST, January 2, 2007
Story Highlights
• United Airlines workers reported saucer-shaped craft over Chicago, Illinois
• Workers, including pilots: Object hovered over airport, shot up through clouds
• FAA not investigating report, which it says was made November 7
• "Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon," FAA says
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- -- Federal officials say it was probably just some weird weather phenomenon, but a group of United Airlines employees swear they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped craft hovering over O'Hare Airport in November.
The workers, some of them pilots, said the object didn't have lights and hovered over an airport terminal before shooting up through the clouds, according to a report in Monday's Chicago Tribune.
The Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that a United supervisor had called the control tower at O'Hare, asking if anyone had spotted a spinning disc-shaped object. But the controllers didn't see anything, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said.
"Our theory on this is that it was a weather phenomenon," Cory said. "That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low (cloud) ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things."
The FAA is not investigating, Cory said.
United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said company officials don't recall discussing any such incident from November 7.
At least one O'Hare controller, union official Craig Burzych, was amused by it all.
"To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," he said."What we are dealing with here, is a complete lack of respect for the law" - Jackie Gleason, Smokey and the Bandit

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that U.F.O.'s exist. Personally, I believe it is naive thinking to assume we are the only beings in infinite space. I, for one, would LOVE to see a U.F.O. in person!!!
