Ed's gonna rip us off!!
If the CVH reunion happens, it will be one of the biggest rip offs in music history.
How many times have we all read how much DLR & EVH hate each other? Just last year I read a quote from AVH saying that DLR will NEVER play in VH again.
EVH has always said that he doesn't want to do an "oldies" tour, cause it wouldn't be fair to the fans. He has also said, numerous times, that even back in the day the live vocals with DLR weren't that great. Can you imagine what they're like now? Check out CVH footage on youtube and see how often DLR messes up the words or just screams. I've heard plenty of bootlegs from the CVH era, and DLR mostly sucks on them. The only good DLR performance I've ever seen/heard is the classic Oakland '81 footage.
Say what you want about Sammy, but I think most of us will agree that his bad performances are few and far between.
Van Halen in 2007 will be a fleecing of the fans equal to what The Eagles have been doing for years: an oldies tour, purely for the cash, with a bunch of guys who hate each other.
They should call it the "Take The Money And Run" tour.

Nobody says you have to go my man, and for the fans who have been waiting 22 years to see it, or hell, a lifetime for some, it'll probably be worth it to them.

The only way Ed can rip you off is if you are stupid enough to open your wallet for him. Remember the fans spoke out loudly during the III fiasco. The album didn't sell and the tour was cut short when they couldn't put butts in seats...
If you don't agree with VH's stupid decisions... then don't waste a dime on em.Woke up this mornin, got Blue Moon in your eyes...

The only way Eddie and the band would be ripping off anyone is if he took their money without them wanting to go give it up.
If the reunion happens, people who want to see it will pay for it. One way or another.
Van Halen are performers. It's their work, how the make money. Just like McDonald's sells burgers or Nike sells shoes. If people like it enough, they'll pay for it.
I like Van Halen. Period. If they do the reunion, I'll most likely fork out the cash for it as will many other people. What is understood need not be discussed.

Every once in a blue moon, somebody around here speaks the truth.....my thoughts exactly.
Those that attempted to discredit the 2004 tour as a "Cash Grab" should look at themselves very closely in the mirror as they biy their tickets on Ticketmaster.com.
I'm all about getting fucked, so bring on DLR.....life's too short for me to worry about the inner struggle of the band, before the internet, I wouldn't have been aware of the behind the sceenes bullshit.
Now can be get back to discussing how Mike's getting fucked with this....Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

I just don't give a rip about yet another "tour"
All I've cared about is new music.
I still don't understand why the one thing that will last as a legacy.......music on a CD.......is the LAST thing on any of these guys minds.

Anyone who cried about bringing back CVH and bashed other people for YEARS for going to see anything to do with Sammy are 100% hypocrites if they go to this version of VH, which is obviously nothing more than what '04 was...a chance to make some cashola.

i honestly think it won't happen
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

Even the most rabid CVH fan knew Dave never had a great voice. It's an acquired taste. I can understand why many wouldn't care for his singin' style but that's what made Dave, Dave. Besides with Dave it was the total package. Yeah! technically, Sammy's a better singer but for some of us that's not the ultimate measure. I don't care what anyone says, Dave pushed Ed to be better which in turn made the band better as a whole.
Dave has said numerous times they never were "spectacular" friends even in the glory days. I don't need 'em to be huggin' each other every other song. As long as they're "professional" on stage and put on the best damn show they can, is the only thing that concerns me. Do you think everybody on a Superbowl, World Series, NBA, or Stanley Cup championship team love each other. Hell no! what counts it that they are the best at what they do.

Like some dude on vh-1 said, Dave isnt the greatest singer but his voice just sounds cool.
I think it will be great, i dont care if they each lunch together or hang out, and i dont care if they're only doing it for the money. The fans have wanted this for a long time and thats all that matters.
It really doesnt matter who's singing because no matter what there's always somebody who's gonna bitch.

Achievements:
There will be a tour folks...it's a done deal. As far as Dave's voice goes, he's been working on it for the last while with vocal coaches and you can really see it in his performances from the last few years. I think Dave knew that if he really wanted a reunion to happen that he would have to sharpen up that part of his game, because expectations would be so high that he wouldn't be able to get away with his shitty live vocal performances of the past. No matter how much technique Dave adds to his repatoire, he will never be a 'great' singer....it's all in the swing and the feel and Dave has those things to burn!! Also, Dave at 52 will not be doing the drinking and coke that he did in his 20's and 30's which cause total havoc with a singer's voice.

If the CVH reunion happens, it will be one of the biggest rip offs in music history.
Then roughly every mega rock star has ripped everyone off. Band mates usually don't really get along too great. Especially the hugely popular bands that took such a wild high ride like VH did. The mega-band. You can't imagine all the garbage that those 4 guys have accumulated with one another blazing the trail that they did.
No, they're not going to be toasting one another every evening, but I do believe that none of them want to let the other down. They have a lot to prove to one another on stage. There will be a tense energy about it. Especially early on.
Later it may get ugly, but in the early going at least I believe they'll be giving it everything they've got on stage.
