The summer of 1984 on the "1984" tour in Oklahoma City, OK. That show was my first concert EVER! And it changed my life....FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....and then some.

My first concert (by any band) ever. Shittiest seats in the house, almost the last row, furthest from the stage in the upper balcony....... but it was still fuckin awesome

I don't remember the date anymore, I have the ticket stub somewhere.

Great Western Forum (at the time the "Fabulous Forum") in Inglewood, CA for the 1984 tour. I think it was in April of '84. I don't remember much about it, I was only 13.

Same goes for me. People ask me sometimes about how it was, having seen the 'Warning tour, but I was 12 years old and literally the only things I even remember about the show are that I'm pretty sure I recall On Fire and So This is Love, and that Eddie's solo blew me away. Mostly my eyes and ears were on Eddie. Couldn't even tell you whether Dave did an Ice Cream Man solo or a sword-ribbon dance. I was young and out of my element, first concert ever, overwhelmed and underappreciative for what I was truly experiencing.

The Sheep and '84 tours I remember much better, but even now the details are hazy. Old age memory sucks. The UsFest I wish I could forget. Funny how I have little issues in recalling extremes on the negative side of concert-going (UsFest, 5150, and Monsters of Rock all had intensely problematic issues for our group, whether they were brought on by the venue, the band, the audience, or our idiot selves).

Best Dave era show I saw was the Diver 'Sheep gig at the Forum. Best Sam era show was the FUCK gig at the Pacific Ampitheater in Costa Mesa (though being in the rings at Staples in '04 was damned cool, I must admit).

The Monsters of Rock Tour, July 1988, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. I was 13, and the sound folks didn't realize they needed to turn it down for an indoor stadium; it was damn loud. They opened with "Summer Nights."

I briefly caught them at texas jam in 78,79??

but my first full show was houston colisium in 1980 (WACF)
Dave came out with bleached hair for the first time and had on a giant cowboy hat and oversized chaps. Texas of course went apeshit and ate it up. Still the loudest I can remember a crowd.

My first Van Halen concert was also my first concert. It was April 1995 at the then Rosemont Horizon. My second concert was also Van Halen in July 1995 at the New World music theater, I also happened to be lucky enough to score front row center tickets for that show also.
