What makes anyone think Mike WILL be part of it??

Sorry if this seems rehashed, but why does anybody at this point in time think Mikey will be part of the reunion? Ed was just on Stern what, four weeks ago, and wouldn't even call the guy by his name, called him sauce... obviously meant to be degrading, wouldn't use his stage name, Anthony, again, trying to be degrading. He said then, Mike is not in the band, and Wolfie is, I mean, c'mon folks we are only talking four weeks ago.

He made it difficult for Mike to be part of the last tour with Sammy, made him take a paycut, would barely speak to him by all accounts, and apparently hasn't respected what the guy has given to the band in years! When was the last time anybody heard Ed say anything positive about Mikey?

I know we all want Mike to be part of the CVH supposed reunion, but I see no reason to believe he will be part of it at this point, and I see so many folks here saying they think he will be part of it....based on what?? Ed is a very bitter angry "not sober at best" person, who doesn't seem to give a flying F about not only Mad Anthony, but the fans for that matter.

I know some folks think, Mike will be involved because of $$$$, it won't draw the crowds like it would if it was a "real" reunion they might say. Nah, the crowds will come if Ed and Dave are back together. Hell most casual fans don't know who Mike is.

How many hardcore fans are here on this site?? What 15K? Does anybody really think that is enough to change what Ed or Al or Dave think??

So I go back to the point, why does anybody here seriously think Mike WILL be a part of it, cuz' I just can't see it happening, but with Ed I guess you never know.

If Irving Azoff is still VH's manager, Mike will be at the RRHOF IF they get inducted and will be the bass player IF there is a 30th Anniversary Tour.

Azoff has been doing this long enough to know that anything else is complete Bullshit.

If those two things happen, Mike will probably not be involved with VH in any form or way any longer.

Ed and Al will go back up the mountain afterwards and try to figure out how they got screwed again this time out, and get to work on the NEW Van Halen with no lead vocalist/frontman/leader.

there are too many things wrong with the exclusion of Michael Anthony. Personally I wouldn't mind hearing some new EVH without Mikey or Roth. But if it's a reunion as such then Eddie will have to succumb to common sense. There are too many obstacles and pitfalls without the orignal lineup. It will derail the whole deal.

We all know that Mike is a very fan-friendly oriented type of guy, therefore we only assume that he will take part in a reunion tour with Dave - providing that "the door is [still] open" for him - because he knows that there are so many people out there who dream to see this type of thing happening. Coupled with a nice cash grab for him it should easily clinch it.

The only reason I see Mike not being a part of it is if he wasn't allowed to be a part of it. Any other obstacles in the way to prevent Mike from participating, whether it be legal or whatever, will just take time or "baby-steps" to work over. Promoters would know that Mike's exclusion would be insanity and in the end - phoney. Let's hope the rest of the band feels that way too.

As I said, the supposed claim by Ed that "the door is open" for Mike. If that's true, it's hard for me to see why Mike won't accept to be there. He may find both Dave and Ed very difficult to deal with but I'm sure he'd put that aside and do it as one-off once and for all for our sake. That's just my assumption based on the info we have so far in answer to your question. And if common sense ever prevails within the band that is Van Halen, they should realise that it would not be a "true" reunion, per se, without Mike. If they think otherwise, then they should be prepared for some critical negative backlash and being an absolute joke of a band that they've become in recent times.
