Let us know how the show went.

Someone should hold up a sign that says "VH + DLR = 2007?" and see if he responds to it.

Let me just say, Dave doesn’t need Van Halen, Van Halen needs Dave!!! This was my third time seeing DLR and this was without a doubt the best! Dave is in top notch form, looks healthy, kicking higher, and singing better then ever!!!

On the way up to Tacoma I was teaching my girlfriend all about the mighty Van Halen, and the Diamond One. I was a little worried if she would like the concert, as we all know many people think of Dave as a washed up has been, who cant sing. One of the things I stressed to her was Dave is a front man, and performer, not a singer. I also explained about Dave’s jumps and kicks. I remembered the first time I saw Dave on the Sam and Dave tour. His show was great and he was full of energy but he was showing his age a little with the kicks. Now I regret saying anything to her because Dave sounder better then ever and was jumping with more energy and force then anyone half his age could have. That smile we all know so well never left his face. Dave played his typical set, Hot For Teacher, Just Like Paradise, Runnin' With The Devil, You Really Got Me, California Girls, Beautiful Girls, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Jamie's Crying, Cradle Will Rock, Just A Gigolo, Unchained, Panama, Dance The Night Away, Ice Cream Man Everybody Wants Some! Ain't Talking 'Bout Love, and Jump! He didn’t play Mean Streets, and I can’t remember Yankee Rose.

Throughout the concert my girlfriend kept looking at me in complete awe saying, That Guy is Crazy!!!! I told her, Just imagine what we was like 20 years ago. She said, “ WOW!!! I Wish I could have seen that!!!” Me Too Damn I missed out!!! During Running with the Devil he handed the mic to a guy in the audience the guy sung a line and then Dave said Ladies and Gentleman Sammy Hagar! That got lots of laughs. During Dance the night away he asked the crowd if anyone ever heard of a band named Van Halen, the crowd went crazy. He then told a story funny story about the club days about a drunk girl who put her pants on backwards and passed out on the stage. Dave is always a great story teller. Another funny point was when Dave was introducing the band, he began joking about how many jobs he has had, in this last year said he might have a little disc jockey left in him for tonight, and began to introduce the band in a classic radio voice.

After the show was over the entire casino was talking about the concert, what surprised me the most was I didn’t here a single negative thing said about Dave or the show. Everyone seemed to be in shock and awe, I did here a lot of Sammy Who,? F Sammy!! Everyone seemed to really enjoy Dave.

I have always been a Dave and a Sammy fan, I actually like Sammy a little better (I think it’s the Tequila) When I saw the Sam and Dave tour, there was no doubt in my mind that Sammy stole the show. I think if the Sam and Dave tour happened again, the 2006 Dave would give Sam a run for his money!!! Dave is back and better then ever. The 2006 Dave is ready and able to lead Van Halen back to the top of the mountain, if Bevis and Butthead could just enjoy the ride and accept that Van Halen really is a GROUP, not a last name. Thanks Dave for a great night!!!

I was also at the show and it was great! Dave was in superb form and the set list rocked. Definitely more Van Halen than Van Halen...

Very glad you enjoyed the show!! I saw him in September, and thought he was excellent. But what do I know? I'm Just a Rothsheep.

Did you hear any difference in the bass playing of Dave's band and CVH?

    I didn't.
