Been Away. Is Ed Up to It?

Hey folks,

Maybe I should have abandoned Van Halen long ago, since after giving up, a couple of years ago, on the band I had followed so closely since the 80's they now seem to be generating news.

I came back to VHForums tonight to see what was up and, sure enough...thread upon thread about a possible CVH Reunion Tour in 2007.

Though there are many questions about the possibility, probability, feasibility and sustainability of such a thing, I have only one: has Edward Van Halen cleaned up his act/come down to earth in the past year enough to make this worth buying a ticket?

The last thing that I saw of Ed was his walk-on at the country show a while back. I had never seen Ed use his guitar like that and I don't mean that as a compliment. Banging the head and neck on the stage in between random noise was embarrassing. Do we have any signs that he's actually playing these days?

I really feel bad for Ed regarding his deterioration in the past 10 years, but also for those who blindly support his strange and disappointing behaviour.

Let's hope for the best.

Okay don't close it - it's obviously not "yet another reunion" thread the guy just didn't follow anything regarding VH for this long.
