Despite a call from Ed, would you be disapointed in Mike if he still says no?

Ed calls Mike to make amends -- invites him to fully reunite CVH with Dave, but for some reason, Mike still declines.

For aguments sake here (noting that niether of this has happened -- to our knowledge anyway).

I don't think he would decline, but I'd totally support him if he did. Actually, I'd head over to Eddie's place and deck him, then say no. Mike seems happy, he doesn't need Eddie's shit if he won't smarten up.

I'm sure Mike is at least willing to get together in person with Ed and Alex and hash everything over. And then come to a decision.

After all these guys have been through, one would think that they could finally wise up and make ammends.

But if Ed's dead set on a CVH tour and Mike won't do it without Sam, then I'd be real disappointed in Mike. I realize he and Sam are friends and all, but Mike is a founding member of the band and that should take priority. Its only Rock & Roll, you know? Tour with Hager all you want when your VH responsibilities aren't active.

I don't think Mike would say no to a tour without Sam - that's not the point of this possible outing. I think he would do it for the fans.

I also think that he should deck Ed and tell him to fuck off, but maybe after the tour??

I agree that Mike would more than likely say yes but I would understand if he says no. It would probably have to do more with how Roth is getting along with him. If he had to fight the brothers, Dave and new on keys Wolfgang every night of the tour I could see why he would say no thanks. But I'm sure he would love to perform the music of his early career again so if the chance comes he brings his wife along and enjoys the trip for what it is. Which probably is VH's last tour.

It's not CVH without Mike. If he said no I'd respect that.
Ed, Alex and whoever will still call it Van Halen, but to me it becomes their family name only and draws a line between the past and now.

I like all Van Halen from I - III, but if Mike flat out quits, I'd raise a toast and say carry on good man and don't look back.

Why would Mike need to use Sam as a reason? Thats a pretty big leap. I think he has more than enough reason to tell the brothers VH to fuck off of his own accord. If he would say no it would have nothing to do with Sam and everything to do with the bullshit he has had to take from the brothers.

Yep. I would imagine the only way Mike says no is if he feels like he'll be treated like crap for 6 months--or they try to completely lowball him.

Mike was open to working with Dave on the 2002 tour, and seemed to be positive about the studio sessions that were taking place in 2000/2001, so I don't know why he would have problems with the reunion now, unless it was because of Eddie. As far as I know, Alex is still on good terms with Mike. So if Eddie tries to make amends, and Dave & Alex want Mike on board, I don't see him saying "no". Sammy hasn't offerred him a permanent job in the Velveetaritas anyway.

I feel that if Mike said no, he would have every reason to. He wasn't treated well at all. I feel sorry for him in that respect. The guys he grew up with, who he has gone through so much with have dogged him. He's too nice for that kind of stuff. But I would respect his decision.

If Ed made genuine atonement, that's one thing. No amends, no tour. Fuck that 'hired gun' shit with the crappy attitude from the dude who's playing the worst outta everyone.

In short....Mike should do it only if Ed apologizes for all the BS, and includes him in the studio and respects him for what he is.

Otherwise...I say fuck it, ain't worth it, VH's time in the sun is done, move on and be 'about the music,' whether it's with Sam, himself, George Lynch, the Punks, or whoever the fuck else he wants to jam with and not have to worry about a cash grab nostalgia act with a buncha primadonnas.
