I always thought that "Halloween III: Season Of The Witch" was not only a neat detour in the series, I thought it was superior to most everything else in the series.
I frankly do not understand why it is always left out."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

Halloween still freaks me out to this day. I was 9 when I saw it for the first time and I shouldn't have been watching it. It gave me nightmares for months. To this day I still have the, Michael Myers slowly coming into view in my closet, recurring nightmare.

I think people were pissed that Michael Myers wasn't in it. And that fact alone might be why no one ever noticed it.
My dad took me to see that at the movies when I was nine years old. Not one of his best decisions. It scared the hell out of me, but I never got the full gist of the movie.
It was on cable last year, so I watched it again. I now find it to be one of the most despicable movies I have ever scene. The guy wants to melt children's heads on Halloween for God's sake. It's very disturbing if you think about it. I kind of liked the sci-fi aspect of the movie with the robots and stone henge though. But the idea of the halloween masks and the kids watching tv just disturbs me.
Plus the ending pretty much sucks."The sunglasses ask his permission to be worn every night, that's how badass Al is.." - sinner's swing

not gonna lie....I was 22 when i saw "The Ring" and it scared the living shit outa me....went to my parent's house for thanksgiving that year and was forced to sleep on the floor of my bro's room because my old room was spoken for...there was an old ass tv in my bro's room that, no shit, turned on to white noise randomly. It only happened once before i unplugged the bitch, but NOT A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP THAT NIGHT.
Gozer the Traveller will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveller came as a very large and moving Torb. Then of course in the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him, that of a Sloar. Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.

The first "Elm Street" was scary when I was a kid. I remember some kids that lived on my block went and saw it and they were saying how it was the scariest thing they'd ever seen.
I still like "Halloween" and "The Exorcist."

The Halloween series simply because it took place in white suburbia...not in the woods or in your dreams, ala Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, but in a white middle class neighborhood. In other words, it could have happened to any of us.
WHOAOH! Hey you! Who said that? Baby how you been?

Hell yes! My brother and I slept with our bibles after watching that damn thing. The part in the jail where you get to see "Barlow" for the first time is a doozy too. My Dad said he had just come back down into his chair and he looked over at my Mom and he said that she was still airborn.
The original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is a bit disturbing as well. We just saw it a few weeks ago, and I have to say that I found it to be more disturbing now than I did when I first saw it over 20 years ago. There is also some great dark humor in it, that I didn't catch the first time I watched, which makes the movie that much more disturbing."Viking - last to sleep, first to rise, last to leave, that's how the Nords of old rocked the house." ~ timmac in the 'Texas Linkers' thread talking about yours truly. :-)
