Honestly though, it'd be a hard choice....I'd have to play all the guitars before I made my decision.

Does anyone remember that weird "Snake and Mongoose (?)" thing Ed had? I believe it was carved out of an old Explorer, and was truly a beautiful guitar.

It was featured on a guitar magazine cover early in the VH career, yet I'll be damned if I can remember which one at this late date.

The guitar youre referring to is a gibson explorer body carved for ed by a custom furniture maker.

the body sculpture is a sea monster/dragon attacking 2 snakes.
the carving is sculpted and the snakes head actually comes out of the body so its 3 dimensional.

he used it breifly on the 1979 tour. you can see it on the fresno 79 video bootleg.

That's why I bought my black wolf.
They had a tobacco-burst that was nice, but the black one already had my adoration.

My choice would be the original Franky. That's the Holy Grail of guitars for me.
