If Van Halen was still Mammoth (if the Band had not changed their name), would there be all of this EGO bullshit between Ed, Al and Dave/Sam?

Would Dave have ever left in the first place?

Mammoth was probably Dave's idea as well. It certainly fits his style more than Eddie's, who came up with silly band names like "Broken Combs" and "Rat Salade"

If either Dave or Eddie had their current lawyers at the time, the "other" Mammoth wouldn't have had a prayer.

don't know if it would have stopped dave leaving the band in 1985 (what with the ego clash between him and ed) but it may have limited the van halen/hagar feud if they had changed their name for the different line-ups.

also i thought they were called mammoth before dave joined?
