First of all - Ed's solo with talk box, which is essential to CGTSNM can't be played live. Why - Ed felt uncomfortable doing it - maybe he realizes that when you play talk box, you look like actress from ninnworx movies (blowjobs)
So his guitar technician did it for him. So I think he won't do it live, even with guitar tech.
And more, Roth would have problems with singin it - but it is not a problem - he would have problems with most songs.

me wise magic is a great tune that unfortunately won't be attempted. Dave couldn't sing it (in interviews EVH said the high part was pieced together line by line and could never be pulled off) and sadly, EVH couldn't play it either ( remember Sammy saying they didn't do summer nights last time because EVH couldn't handle the transtrem anymore, which would be important to MWM)

I have a hard time reading your post when you cite VH III as your favorite VH album.

I personally don't think VH or Dave care about the songs.... Musically, they are great, but they still have the "what could have been" (not eleven years later) vibe about them..... Don't think they were on Dave's set list in recent years (if ever) either....

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Dave's voice on Me Wise Magic has more special effects than the Matrix. He can't do it live.

I always dug the Trans-Trem tunes Summer Nights, Get Up, Pleasure Dome, Me Wise Magic and Fire In The Hole. What was it about Trans-Trem Ed couldn't do anymore. Anybody?

when i saw Sammy this summer with Mike, before they played Summer Nights he said that it was the most requested song during the 04' tour and that it needed a special guitar that no one seemed to be able to play except Ed. but that Ed couldn't play it anymore either and thats why they didn't do the song in 04'. i am sure he meant that in his drunken state it was too confusing, which is very believable since he was even having trouble with the intro to Runaround and all of Seventh Seal.

I always wondered why they never played that song. I went back and watched "Live Without a Net". Eddie only uses the special feature of the Trans Trem for the intro and right after the extended solo. It doesn't seem that hard of a thing to do. I really can't believe Ed can still use all of his other effects, his whammy bar, his sustainer knob, his volume knob, but he can't work the Trans Trem's whammy bar to put the guitar in the right key. It seems weird.

No offense dudes, but you guys make MWM sound like it's a fucking opera piece. WTF, Dave could hack the damn thing like the rest of the catalogue. We all know he's not even close to sounding like the original recordings live. One can only hope that if VH does tour that Dave picks up some new fucking tricks to do live. That's how the man has always made up for his vocal shortcomings. Sadly, at his age, I don't know if he's capable of doing new tricks. He only does old ones and they're certainly few and far between. I love CVH and Dave, but this is not going to be 1982. Nonetheless, it will still rock major ass! I'll be in line.
