I'm thinking that maybe that is the date of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. I'm looking forward to finding out, as VH is reportedly one of the nominees this year.

I thought about this when the rumor came out. Consider this...
Let's say that insiders at the HOF tipped off someone with the band that they're being inducted. Could the recent discussions with Dave not be about a tour, but just about getting together to perform live at the ceremony?

I don't know...just a thought.

I hope not. However whatever they are in negotiations for (which I hope is a tour, since I never saw them live with Dave), I hope its something positive.

I didn't get to catch the 2004 tour with Sammy unfortunately but that whole fiasco left me with a real negative feeling about VAN HALEN, which of course is the exact opposite of VAN HALEN is or was all about.

I don't think so. How much contact would the two camps really need to prepare to play for 10 minutes one time? If that were all it was it could probably happen like this:

Ed: Hey Dave, what's up. It's been a while.
Dave: Yeah man. What are we doing tonight?
Ed: I dunno. I guess we gotta do Jump. Maybe Panama or You Really Got Me?
Dave: Make it YRGM. We'll do one from our first album together and one from the last. Cool, see you at sound check.
Ed: See ya.

The question is, whether or not it falls apart before it even gets started.

Based on previous years, they announce inductees in November and the ceremony is in March...
