MLB Hot Stove and off-season thread.
So where do you think A-Rod will end up? Will Geof Jenkins NOT be a Brewer this year? Will the Cubbies make the best moves this year? Talk it up until next season! Baseball rules!
Just go for it!

I am almost thinking A-Rod is going to stay a Yankee for the time being.
Bill Bavasi will be the Mariners GM for atleast another year. This means that rebuilding will not start untill 2008.((Just My Two Cents))
And thats about what its worth.

I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

My one off-season request to the Red Sox: Don't go after Sheffield. Keep that asshole as far away from Boston as possible.

Mets will trade for Dontrelle and sign Soriano. I hope so at least.

The Red Sox have a lot of things that have to be explored this off season.
Will they trade Manny? Can they land some top quality starting pitching? Whose gonna close?
Now that the Cardinals have won the World Series, it's gonna start to get interesting.
I wouldn't mind seeing Manny traded IF they can get a big bat in to replace him such as Miguel Tejada. There has to be a guy behind Ortiz that is a feared power hitter.
Also, I would really like to see them make a play for Dontrelle Willis, that poor guys talents are being wasted in Florida IMO."Question is, not does love exist, but when she leaves, where she goes. I got a feeling she don't know either. Wait like the wind, watch where she blows..."

Y'all can just go find yourself someone else other than Dontrelle and Miguel to speculate on this winter. Since they're only paying a buck-fifty for it, I'm thinking the Marlins should be able to keep the core of this team together, maybe find some bullpen help (but everyone probably needs that, so good luck).
I've already stated my wishlist for the Red Sox several times, but it will never happen.
The Devil Rays? Don't know what the fuck they need to do - they have a good core group over there, don't know why they continue to underachieve. I know - let's change the team name - that'll help!
I'd like to see very little movement in the free agency market, but again, that's wishful thinking. I hope some of these other teams (such as the Reds) that looked good for a large part of the season can find the pieces to contend all year next year.

Call me crazy, but I'm fine if the Red Sox make just a couple of moves - I totally disagree with a lot of the talking heads that they are in bad shape. If they can get a 5 hole bat for RF or 1B, and some bullpen help, I'm good.
Sure, I'd take anything they can get in the rotation, but I'm fine with Schilling, Beckett, Wake, Paplebon and fill in the blank - hell, Tavarez did great late in the year, give him a shot, or a kid, or a signing, whatever.
If they deal Manny, I'd like to see them deal him for a 5 hole bat and a pitcher, and then sign a Carlos Lee or Soriano or some other 3/4 bat, they can always move Ortiz to clean up if they get a guy that's a better fit in the 3 spot. I'd do Manny for Ervin Santana and Brandon Wood in a heartbeat, not sure I'd do it for just Santana, which is the rumored offer.
I wonder if Nomar can play RF?

Clemens' swan song as a Red Sox, get it done Theo!
Sign Soriano,
Like IED said, give Tavarez a starting shot.
Keep Manny unlees you are blown away by an offer.
Leave Sheffield alone.
Re-sign Nixon as a back up outfielder to Manny/Crisp and Soriano (if you can sign him)
Get a quality lefty for the BP, add another arm to the BP.
