Default I'd Go To Van Halen Show If

Well it IS like, 4th or 5th thread on related topic but I just wanted to start a poll coz I'm really curious how much a bass player means for people to decide whether to see that 3/4 original line-up or say "meh, fingers crossed for Blink182 reunion" (just so speaking).

    Anyway, the poll!

In most case the bass player could be replaced on a nightly basis and noboby would give a shit...but in this case we are talking about a member of a band for the past 25ish years. A guy that was their from the begining. So for him to be excluded would be rediculous. I'd still go to the show without him, but i'd be crying on the inside, until the first song begins. Then after I pay probably 1000 bucks or whatever it will cost to be in the circle this time...I'll say those motherfuckers did it to me again. Came into town, took my money and left me without a new fucking album.

But I guess it would be worth it, cuase its the only time I will have a chance to see Dave onstage with ED. Sure the magic is gone, but I'll squint my eyes and pretend it is 1982.

I will go, just so I can say I saw Dave with VH, but it will NOT be anything like the magic it was the first time (because of Dave and Eddie's diminished capacity). And, I also hope Mikey tells Ed to piss off and doesn't do it. The way Ed treated him, I sure wouldn't do it period.

This is exactly why I won't go unless MA is there. This is not Alec John Suck or whatever the fuck his name was in Bon Jovi being replaced by someone even lesser known who wasn't even acknowledged as a band member. This is Michael Fucking Anthony we're talking about - just as an important part of CVH as any of them. NO MIKE, NO THANKS.

I didn't know Bon Jovi replaced Alec. News to me.

This was tough b/c I love Edward and the guys, but it's gotta be with the original lineup for me. I think we deserve closure and pay our respects to legacy that is the classic lineup.

But that's just me. I reserve the right to change my mind should circumstances change, but as the rumors fly now, this is my vote.
    RIP - Classic Van Halen

Unless I hear Ed is completely sober, which I doubt is gonna' happen anytime soon, I seriously doubt I will be there regardless. IMHO, the guy ain't thinking straight, and I don't want to hear anymore stories about broken guitars, and Ed saying "he's the king", or lemons in the eyes, or begging Cobain, or any of it. Unless the flippin' soap opera ends, and we see a bright eyed Edward Van Halen, looking fit, (eat a damn sandwich once in a whlie dude) feeling fit and happy, playing "on" and I mean "on" like he is capable of, I want no part of it whatsoever.

I got to shake Eddie's hand once, I got to see them from row 2 at a couple of five*'s so, unless there is a new album, and the old "good time vibe" that made this band what it was, I want nothing to do with it.

Sucks Mike won't be there, but it's 3/4 CVH and that's better than no CVH.

    Default We've been waiting

I understand and agree with everyone's feelings that Mikey and his vocals are essential to VAN HALEN, but we've been waiting and teased for so long about a reunion with Dave. Even if Mike isnt there, I've got to think that the Dynamics of Dave and Eddie will be enough to draw pretty decent crowds if only for the reason of closure. Maybe this is the last piece of the puzzle to close the book on Van Halen, a reunion with Sammy, now a Reunion with Dave, and then thats it for the group. Im not trying to take anything away from Mike, when I saw him with Sammy this summer playing Ultrabass, and going into RWD, I got goosebumps just as I did in 2004, Id just be happy to see some kind of Van Halen being played live

Van Halen reunions would soon surpass the record of singer's changes. I can give my left arm that some day little kids would go around saying something along the lines like "the dude changes his girlfriends like Van Halen reunites with their singers"

I haven't seen the Stones because Bill Wyman not with them.

Its about Eddie and Dave or Eddie and Sammy.
Much like its about Mick and Keith.

It will suck if Mike's not a part of it, but Eddie DID say it would be a different VAN HALEN when he was on Howard Stern.
    Dave
    Eddie
    Alex
    Wolfgang

With maybe a couple hot chicks on background (ala Motley Crue) would be cool too.
Wolfie has NO idea on the amount of "Tang" he is about to be recieving. God I wish I were him some days.
