    Default PRS factory tour

I went on a tour of the Paul Reed Smith factory in Stevensville, MD (near Annapolis) yesterday with a friend of mine from work and had a really cool time. I saw how they make these incredible guitars, saw some amazing finishes, and even got our picture taken with the Paul Reed Smith (that's me on the left). We went to some seafood place right before and I quickly downed a pitcher of beer. That proved useful 'cause my friend saw PRS walking around talking to some people during the tour, but was too afraid to walk up and talk to him. So I was like "watch this - who cares..." and walked over to him and starting talking to him - he's actually pretty laid back and pretty tall! So I ended up with a lousy picture with the dude.

The guy who gave the tour has worked there for 17 years and he said PRS has sent EVH a number of guitars over the years and has talked with him at the NAMM shows and EVH always says that PRS guitars are "too much like nice furniture for me to play rough on them." Anyway...

I bought a McCarty 10 top least year and love it.

must've been cool. I always love looking at factory tour multimedia on manufacturer's website. I couldn't seem to get the pic link to open tho.

Yeah I could see the EVH thing being the real deal. There was an interview in Guitar world a while back about how EVH just chucked his guitars in the back of a pickup truck. On the other hand, his music man and wolfgang guitars are pretty nice...i would love a singlecut with a floyd rose and a thin neck...
    Van Halen....nothing else is needed....

Yeah, the top-notch Wolfgangs were "nice" in a very similar way to PRS guitars.

i wasnt saying that they are in the same bracket, what I meant was that top notch wolfgangs, which no doubt were the ones that Eddie played, had decent tops and construction. They in no way beater guitars in the vain of Frankenstrat or the 5150 was.
    Van Halen....nothing else is needed....
