dave & hagar: celebrity boxing...

there's a story in the TV section of the new entertainment weekly (with matrix on cover) that fox offered dave & hagar 35,000 each to box on the celebrity boxing show. they turned it down.

hagar said: "we all liked seeing Vanilla Ice get his ass kicked, but can you imagine what it did to that guy's brain?"

dave added: "I think it would be a batte of wits - and i never try to enter into one of those with an unarmed man."

I think it would be stupid for Dave to get into a boxing match with a former semi-pro boxer..and why is Dave recycling debating lines that are over a century old?? My fucking grandfather used that one. Although it's cool that he knows that one [img]smile.gif[/img] .

Kung Fu is much much more about using your upper body, hands, and arms than using your legs(ala Karate and Tae Kwon Do)...I am sure Dave could take care of himself...

Being a former Boxing trainer Myself, I think the stupid one to get into the Ring would be Sammy! I had the chance in the mid 80's to see a sparring tape a friend shot of Dave and a couple of Kick Boxers going about 3 rounds each. Not only did Dave Not Get knocked down, but he put some serious damage to one of the guys. Dave is tall and quick and in great shape.

As for Sammy....All I have ever heard about his so called Boxing is from HIM!!! He's fat, shorter and has apparently not been training for a number of years. And I heard it was his Father who got him into Boxing and he just did it as a teenager. So anyone who thinks Sammy's Boxing experience, that No one has seen in 30 years makes him an easy winner in a match against Dave ( who has numerous black belts and has sparred with world champions)......Then you would probably take Pee Wee Herman against Roy Jones as well......

Bring me the money.....it's an easy bet. Once Dave hits that marshmellow center of sammy's....it's over in 2....

You Daveheads believe in to much of the hype that is "David Lee Roth". To see him and Sam box would be embarissing.

The Van Damme reference is clear. Everyone thought that this guy was some kind of modern day "Bruce Lee". Turns out he's nothing but a fraud. He had some training in karate as a teenager, but most of his skills are from ballet.
