Guys! I just read the article and I don't see what the big deal is with what Sammy said. It seems people would rather believe VHlinks posters sources sayin' they've heard Dave back in the band than Sammy sources who say Dave was in but it all fell apart. Anybody who interviews Sammy is goin' to bring up the obvious question. Sammy is merely sayin' what he heard from close sources of the band. You'd be praisin' him to the end of the freakin' earth if he said a source close to the band said "Yeah! Dave's in the band and they'll be releasing a new album shortly". If he said "no comment" you'd still be slammin' him.

Look, its obvious Sammy hates Eddie (he said it in the article) so he's not going to say "well, all the signs point to a reunion with Dave" that would just turn all his fans reading the article back to VH. Why he doesn't just say "I don't know whats happening with VH" I don't know. He seems to be the only person around who is poo-pooing the reunion. If he and Ed hate each other so much, what do you think the chances of him speaking to the band personally are? Pretty unlikely I would think. And as far as I'm concerned if your not speaking to either VH or DLR its just another lame rumour.
Sure he's got more contacts than us but if all of these contacts are saying DLR is not in the band then why hasn't there been more rumours from other people to that effect? I'm sure these "sources" Sammy has don't have an "I only tell Sammy" policy. So where are the other rumours that Dave's out? Sammy's alone with this one.

I think I've made my point.

actually, i wouldn't hate sammy if he said "no comment."
it's not his place to comment on the current state of van halen. he's not in the band.
i would respect him if he took the high road, because now it's like he's just out there saying that he's surviving and they're not.

Well, i'm glad that Sammy says something about VH.
At least someone is!

The thing I found interesting is he stuck up for David Lee Roth in it.

He really seems to not like Eddie Van Halen anymore though.

But if his side of the story about the bands break up is true, you can't blame him.

Now fighting to ignite his own solo career, Hagar harbors no ill feelings for Roth, with whom he once battled. Van Halen, he says, "did everything in their power to crush his career. And I know that's what they tried to do to me, but it didn't work."

Again, if something's wrong, the VAN HALEN CAMP would (well, at least they SHOULD) say something themselves, not leave us hanging and let Sammy Hagar handle public relations.

Sammy should just take the high road and not comment--he's not in the band anymore, who knows where he's getting this stuff--this is an awful way to promote an album.

I can't imagine SH spreading BS just to hurt Eddie & Co., but maybe I'm naive. Maybe there has been problems with Dave, but that doesn't mean Sammy is completely up-to-date or that he has that much 'inside' info, even though he is a former band member. The only thing that doesn't add up is DLR's silence. If DLR were truly gone, I personally believe that he would be blaring the trumpets and milking the third 'breakup' for all it's worth.
