HEY, HEY, HEY.....I like this show far better than any other "overhaul" type show. Maybe it's because I drive a large Class 8 motor vehicle. For all you NON Professional drivers, that would be a semi.

You laugh all you want, the shit they do on these trucks would cost more than your average home. Just buying a brand new truck costs anywhere from $110,000 to $250,000.

So take a median price range of, say, oh...$175,000...THEN add all the cool shit they put in them, you're looking at nearly $300,000-$350,000. Even with the P.O.S.'s that they refurbish, you're still looking at nearly $100,000 after they do a complete overhaul. Watch the show sometime, these guys are fuckin' awsome. I met them before they were known outside of the trucking industry.

Oh, another piece of "insider info", the trucks they trick, don't look as bad as the before pictures show. Most of the trucks, like in the episodes, that look that bad are usually in junk yards or not allowed to even roll. The D.O.T. would shut them down as hazards. They "distress" them for the taping of the show. No self-respecting trucker would EVER drive a truck that looks as bad as they do. Duct tape to replace grill louevers..."cmon Dave, gimme a break...." We live in thse big-ass bad boys anywhere from a week at a time to up to 3 months at a time. Depending on if you're a local, regional or long-haul driver. And it also depends on if you're company driver, an Owner-Operator leased on to a company or a true Independent driver with your own authority.

Then are some of these guys, that have those HUGE-ASS boxes on the back; known as apartment sleepers, are out up to 50 weeks a year, and only take time off to visit the family around the holidays. They literally have everything they need to sustain themselves on the road nearly all year long. We're talking actual propane operated stove/ovens, bathroom w/shower, "living" area with a kitchen table and a big-ass plasma, HDTV with surround sound. And on and on and on.

These drivers, on the show, know they are getting overhauled too. If you listen closely, most of them never even run anywhere close to Joplin, MO., where the Chrome Shoppe Mafia are located on I-44. They get routed through there. At least three of the trucks tricked out only run along the southern corridors. And last I checked, Missouri isn't one of the "Southern Corridor" States.

Not to mention, you catch a group of guys hanging around your truck, looking inside it and pokin' jokes at it, you know how many guys are there and you wonder how many you can take out, BEFORE they start monkeystompin' ya.

Another dead give away is the "oh so shocked look" the gumba's give and the horrible, completely un-natural dialogue that goes back and forth. The video editors must cuss up a storm everytime a new episode is shot. If you pay attention, there is so much splicing being done in the back-n-forth dialogue, it like they are reading off cue cards.

Oh, and I'll also have you konw that CMT AND GAC rock. As most of the newer artists on the scene have definate rock roots and over 90% of them list Van Halen as a main influence on their style and energy. Nyah, nyah, na, nyah, nyah.

Oh, and some of the new women in country music are just freakin' HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! I was told by the girl that I'm casually dating that she has never had any lesbian expericences, other than fanticizing, but would go gay for Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland. As a matter of fact she has two lists of people I couldn't get mad at her for doing. One for women and one for men. God I lust this woman.

"Pete is this big, loud muthafucker with a big ass heart, y'all!!!!---------" - Hurricane Halen 9/27/13
