Does anyone remember this up-tempo soundtrack rocker inspired by the arm-wrestling exploits of one Sly Stallone? Wham Bam Amsterdam that kicked! It felt so good, so good! And it felt so nice, so nice! Yareeba! Cabo Wabo! Tequila! Waboritas! Mas! Mucho!

'Winner Takes It All'?? That's an awesome song! It could have easily been on a Rocky movie.

I heard that Eddie played bass on that song and co-produced it with Sammy.

I though it was a pretty decent song for a cheezy movie. Not one of Stallone's best that's for sure.

Eddie did play the bass on this tune. The VHE claims Eddie made some type of guitar contribution to the song.

Not a bad tune, but an awful Stallone movie.

I remember the video has Sammy and Stallone engaged in an arm wrestling match at the end.

Ya! I remember that video! Fuckin' ridiculous! Sammy comes walkin' in. Flippin' his hair. Sly Stalones arm is TWICE the size of Sammy's! HA!

Cool song though. I got it somewhere, in fact I used to have winner takes it all, loser take the fall, in time he'll make it over the top in my signature.
That song came out while Sam was in 5150 with VH! I dunno if Ed played on it or not?
"Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

"......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

"Over the Top" was a cinematic classic. Any movie that has a single father arm-wrestling to gain custody of his son can't be bad at all. Especially when "Winner Takes It All" is in the background.

That song is not really in the Sam catalog as the music was written by Georgio Moroder (hence some of it's slightly disco feel). Moroder was in charge of the soundtrack for the whole movie.

A GREAT TUNE!!! I like to think of it as Sammy's Eye Of The Tiger. Winner Takes It All is a great song to work out to. I also love the video with Sammy on the motorcycle, and I love the end when he beats Stallone in armwrestling!

Anyway, this is in the wrong forum. I'm moving it to Songs/Albums.
