    Default Classic Albums on VH1

Anybody been watching these? Good stuff from the performers and
producers of British Steel, Dark Side of the Moon, Electric Ladyland, and,
ahem, Hysteria. These are all nicely done and it's great to have the artists
over the console going throught the tracks.

Some great irony too, in how Priest doesn't really get how Tap they are and
that VH1 has to spend a whole segement talking about the outfits 'cause,
let's face it, there's not a lot of uncorked mystery about Metal Gods other
    than the "cutlery trays"!

And Lep still doesn't get it either ('We're gonna do 30 takes of everything!')
and it would have been interesting to hear the 'raw' Jim Steinham stuff. But
some good clips from Joe and Phil, who make some of those songs more
interesting when they sing and play em in front of you. Still don't get why
anyone thinks Pour Some Sugar is a good song, but whatevs.

Better are the Hendrix and Floyd episodes, especially the Waters and Gilmour bits.

    Recomended.

I've watched some of these and really enjoyed hearing the stories behind the songs. I do find it interesting that all these artists are British.

That's because the production company behind these shows is based in England.

There are episodes on Metallica (The Black Album), Meatloaf and Elvis, so it's not all about British acts.

I have the Hysteria DVD and the best stuff on there is the bonus stuff that VH1 Classic didn't show. After seeing Dark Side of the Moon, I'm going to have to pick that up as well. These shows are really good.

I watched the Def Leppard Hysteria episode, didn't get to see any of the others.

Didn't VH-1 (not VH-1 Classic) have a show like this a couple of years ago with a different title? It had Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet, KISS:Alive and some others. I think it might have been called Behind The Album. Anybody remember the title?

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours is one of my all-time favorite albums and whenever that episode comes on I end up watching it no matter what else I was watching or doing. I absolutely love how they go track by track at the console and only play certain instruments, background vocals etc. etc. Just amazing.

I guess it is too much to ask or expect that we would ever get a Van Halen episode. Dream on....

No, that would be the Aerosmith episode!

If there were to be a Van Halen episode, which album do you think they should/would focus on?
