Wolfgang Special Question
I own an American made Wolfgang Special. Unfortunately the nut needs to be replaced because one of the allen screw holes is stripped. Anybody know what size nut (ughhh that sounds bad) it needs to be?
Thanks!!!

You're probably best off with a nut blank. i just bought a Special off ebay and it needed a nut, too. The nuts on the Specials are real narrow and small, so anything you buy is probably going to have to be cut down.
BTW, I got a GraphTech/TremNut graphite nut (and bridge) for my Special. It's great and I haven't broken a sting since:

Also, they're very helpful over the phone. Nevermind...I just realized you need something locking...sorry.Last edited by Otis5150; 10.09.06 at 01:02 PM.

You can also contact www.stewmac.com , www.allparts.com , www.wdmusic.com , etc for locking nuts. The size you need is 1 5/8" nut. I believe it's an R2 locking nut.
I've got them here as well if you need one, or parts for one. Let me know if you have questions.

If its a Floyd Rose locking nut, there's commonly 3 kinds called R1, R2, and R3. If you can remove the locking nut from the neck, the R# might be stamped on the back of the locking nut. Otherwise, use a good ruler and measure it.
R2 size I know is 1 5/8". I can't recall the others.
Check the following for R2 size nuts:
http://www.axcessories.com/products.asp?cat=67
Google "Original Floyd Rose Locking Nut R#" replacing # with your nut's number and you should find something.
Many people sell these so you won't have trouble finding a replacement. just be sure to know the R# before ordering and don't just order any old Floyd Locking Nut ... make sure its the right R#, and frankly IMHO, don't get anything less than an original Floyd Rose part. I've had those cheap replacement parts before and its not worth it because of the torque you put on those allen screws and the pressure involved in holding the strings down tight ... you'll crack or strip out the cheap ones in less than a year (I did, anyways).
Good Luck
