Any VH Songs Sound Dated To You???

There's only one Van Halen song that sounds dated to me, and it's not even the whole song, just the intro. The bass intro of Push Comes To Shove sounds very 70's to me.

Has anyone seen Live and Let Die before? In one of the scenes James Bond is in the back seat of a car driving on the freeway, and every car on the road is HUGE, very 70's-like.

When I hear the intro of Push Comes To Shove in the car, I always expect some huge old Cadillacs to come pulling up beside me.

Runnin' with the devil(the car horns in the intro makes it sound like an early 70's song)

Dirty Water Dog(the drum intro sounds like it's from the revolutionary war period of time)

One foot out the door(the synth part is just to 70's ish)

In response to Crossing Over: Love Walks In sounding too 70's? If anything Love Walks In sounds more 80's then anything else.....I don't see where you are picking up any 70's vibe in that song. Not trying to argue, I just don't hear any 70's in that particular song.....

You can make the argument that any of VH's keyboard tunes, with the exception of "Right Now" are dated. Mainly because you just don't here keyboard tunes on the radio right now. At least current stuff. "Feels So Good' is a prime example.

"jump" is so damn 80s. the keyboards just reak of early mTV, jams shorts and rubix cubes. i always have wished they would do a 90s/00s version of "jump", dropping all keyboards and adding heavy power chords in its place.

That's true Doucet! Although there is one newer band called Savage Garden that I noticed uses synths in a bunch of their songs.
