If you listen to some of the things Hagar said, Al is tired of the "biz". Of course, they are on such great terms.

But, what Eddie says goes. If he needs Al where it counts the most (the studio), he'll be there.

I have to be honest, I wish Al was more vocal. He'd probably hold the company line, but I'd like to hear his take.

True. You just always hear about how tight they are. This seemed like a pretty big deal (even if it is porn). Not that there's anything wrong with that. And I've never seen porn before.

But does Alex ever have any outside projects going on (that may be in the public eye)? I'm not being a smart-ass, I'm truly asking the question here. Just like to see what else he does besides kick ass on drums.

One other thing (sorry to mention this here or if it has been mentioned already), but don't you guys think that it's kind of funny that BILLY IDOL didn't want to do the gig so he wouldn't be associated with porn (if that's the real reason)?! WHAT a crack up. Mister, "My career's going so well right now, I wouldn't want to do anything that would screw it up or anything". Ah ha ha ha ha. What a joke.

Yeah, they can do things without each other. Al doesn't do much in public because he's sick of the "biz". After 28 years now, I would probably be sick of it too. The media and all the crap that goes on. It's sad but it's the truth.

Al is probably the smartest of the bunch. He's living the easy life now. He made his statement in rock 'n' roll history, and now he's living the easy life.

All good things come to an end. Over 28 years of playing, writing, touring, etc. is definitely a long time for most musicians. I appreciate how much all he has done for Van Halen. Not just playing great drums, but keeping the band together and making smart desicions for the band.

Who knows, if it weren't for Big Al, and all he has done, there might have never been a Van Halen.

My older brother and I play in a band together, him on drums, me on guitar. We're very close--best friends in a sense. However, we both play in other groups, have seperate projects, have our own girlfriends and homes... generally our own seperate lives. Though we are always there for each other, we aren't always there for each other. I don't see it being a whole lot different for Ed and Al.
