Your Top-25 One-Per-Band Albums
Since it's comming towards the end of the year I thought I'd start a diary-entry alike thread to have a look at it every once in a while when my taste in music would change (becuase it certainly will). For now here's my list below, and I wanted to limit it down to one artist per position, with explaination why exactly this album is in my top.
1.The Used - The Used
Release Date: 2002
Genre: The Used.
It's the most solid and the most inspiring album I've ever heard since I learned to turn the inspiration from music into art or writing. The thunderstorm of melodies and vocals and brilliant lyrics from this 3-piece band's album goes beyond what I've felt before. It's a concept from start to finish as much as you can get it, which I still can not totally express.
2. Van Halen - Balance
Release Date: 1995
Genre: Hard Rock
, c'mon. I had multiple threads on how much I love this record, but to add once again - I started listening to music with 'Balance'. It's been my number one since 1995 until last year.
3. Jimmy Eat World - Futures
Release Date: 2004
Genre: Emo
It's personal, I'm not leaving comments on this one. Let's just say there's other person involved.
4. Avril Lavigne - Under My Skin
Release Date: 2004
Genre: Pop Rock
This album is the reason where I am now, and more related to topic the reason why I listen to 90% music in this list. And I think I've said alot on Avril before, so =]
5. Zakk Wylde - Book Of Shadows
Release Date: 1999
Genre: Southern Rock/Blues/Country
Well, Zakk IS the man! He plays probably the most passionate solos on this record, and I just love the calm mood of it. Plus Zakk's voice. Lyrics and music - it's a top score in everything.

6. Frameshift - An Absence Of Empathy
Release Date: 2005
Genre: Alternative Metal
Best of Sebastian Bach in this whole career - and actually the first and ONLY album I've felt in love with while still listening it for the first time. Not a fan of a concept idea, but lyrics don't give it away anyway (as long as you don't know it). Amazing mixture of epic in metal.
7. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Release Date: 2000
Genre: Nu-Matal/Rapcore
I've learned to sing basically singing along with Chester Bennington for years. I could care less about Linkin Park as a band, but I've been listening to this album almost daily since the release and I could never get tired of it. 'Crawling' and 'In The End' are easily among the greatest songs of 00's.
8. Ozzy Osbourne - Ozzmosis
Release Date: 1995
Genre: Heavy Metal
Sums up Zakk's tone for me - and IMO the best Ozzy's album. Solid as hell, AWESOME production, great for blasting the roof off along with neighbours. The Prince of Darkness and The Riff Lord at their best.
9. Skid Row - Slave To The Grind
Release Date: 1991
Genre: (Heavy) Glam Metal
Just 'Quicksand Jesus' alone would make me put 'Slave To The Grind' in my top-10! It would be even higher if it wasn't for guitar solos, but that's nitpicking coz guitar works overally are awesome, not even getting started on vocals.
10. Coheed And Cambria - 2nd Stage Turbine Blade
Release Date: 2002
Genre: Alternative Rock/Progressive Emo
I honestly listen more to 'In Keeping Secret Of Silent Earth III' but it all began with 2nd Stage Turbine. One of the first records of the genre to go in the public. And one of the first records of the genre I started listen to.

Achievements:
11. From Autumn To Ashes - Too Bad You're Beautiful
Release Date: 2001
Genre: Post Hardcore
This record pretty much sums up the way I've been thru anything in the last 6-8 months, I love it to bits. It also defines the type of music I'd like to play if I ever get in a band myself - I feel most natural with this type of vocals/guitar playing and obviously lyrics. Changes of beat/tempo/mood/singing multiple times during the song - it's just the way I like it.
12. Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Release Date: 2000
Genre: Post Hardcore/Screamo
Alright I managed to keep it out of my top-10 . I love the album but seriously - it has a vibe it was recorded in the mental ward. Daryl Palumbo has the most sick voice - it really does sum up the band's name. One of the things why I don't feel like listening to 'EYEWTKAS' this often are the lyrics, which basically go around hotels, whores and everything related. Beautiful
13. Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
Release Date: 2005
Genre: Metalcore
I've said pretty much everything in the thread I've started on Bullet - to add my own guitar tone/playing was majorly inspired by this album.
14. Queen - A Night At The Opera
Release Date: 1975
Genre: Classic Rock
Woo thanks dad for ever bying this AMAZING record and introducing me to rock music. I recall spending hours listening to "The Prophet's Song" over and over again daily as a 5-year-old, and despite I over-listened the album over any possible limits - I admire it to date.
15. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Release Date: 2005
Genre: Indie
I love every Bright Eyes album, but since this one was the first one I bought I'm going with "I'm Wide Awake". Whenever I feel this really really not good - this record never stops to bring me back to normal, just to listen to Connor's voice is enough.

16. Something Corporate - North
Release Date: 2003
Genre: Rock
And that's the album I listen to when I'm overally happy and excited - I can't really express what I mean but there's so much light in the music in 'North' that listening to it makes me literally feel the moments of living. Most of my all-time favorite songs are on this record.
17. Brand New - Deja Indendu
Release Date: 2003
Genre: Alternative Rock/Indie
For months this album was one of the very few I could listen to when I moved homes, and it steadily grew to be one of my all-time favorites. Brilliant lyrics, amazing melodies, thrilling vibe thru the album with closing "Play Crack The Sky" which is definately in my top-10 songs, one word - awesome.
18. Roxette - Look Sharp!
Release Date: 1988
Genre: Pop Rock
I really picked that one Roxette's record because of the cover - I love them all equally.
19. Eisley - Room Noises
Release Date: 2005
Genre: Indie
If you take Glassjaw record and turn it the other way around - that is pretty much exactly the opposite. Uberly mellow female voices, lyrics about happy things and "Memories". I love Eisley and I'm totally in love with "Room Noises".
20. Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlantisism
Release Date: 2003
Genre: Alternative Rock
Again, along with Jimmy Eat World's "Futures" - I'm not developing more.Last edited by WinterlessIceness; 10.04.06 at 08:34 AM.

Achievements:
21. Sammy Hagar - Not For Sale
Release Date: 2002
Genre: Hard Rock
My favorite Sammy's record, and I shan't explain why Sammy is in my top-25 artists
22. Story Of The Year - Page Avenue
Release Date: 2003
Genre: Hard Rock with elements
Listening as typing, it's honestly the mainstreem side of the present rock, but these are some really quality songs on this record. Been listening to it daily for the last 3 months so it deserved it's place in my list.
23. Funeral For A Friend - Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation
-I hate the cover so ain't posting-
Release Date: 2003
Genre: Mainstreemish Post Hardcore
Used to be in my top-5, then something about the band started to turn me off against their music and until lately I haven't been even listening to them for months. Then I decided to give a 'nostalgia' listen and you know, if it's all about music then I definately still like the album. No skippers, great songs of both up-beat and slow-tempo, so here it is at number 23.
24. Taking Back Sunday - Where You Want To Be
Release Date: 2004
Genre: Alternative Punk/Rock. Go figure
I made my first painting in oil listening to that album, so thanks for the inspiration! Although I honestly more wanted to go and dance rather than blend highlights on elvish statues with 000-fine point brush!
25. Black Label Society - Stronger Than Death
Release Date: 2000
Genre: Berzerker Metal
And the final place goes to Zakk "Da Man" Wylde . Out of 8 BLS records I absolutely admire I had to pick at least one despite Zakk already has two mentions in my list.
-------------------------
Alright, so - 25 albums, 10 genres and 30 years range between top-vintage and top-new records.
Keep it comming!

IIRC James Brown or Jim Decola confirmed the story of Ed being able to identify the construction of the cab. Conversely, Jim debunked the story of Ed chucking a guitar across a Peavey boardroom...
