Default American Top 40 5-26-1979 #40! Dance the Night Away

Okay hopefully that got someone's attention.

Well I was listening to American Top 40, on XM's 70's channel on my way home from my class and to my pleasant surprise this came up so naturally I recorded it. This is a transcript of what Kasey Said:

"Our countdown of the biggest hits in America begins... Number 40..This song is by the band Van Halen the rock band from Pasadena California, you know, they first charted a year ago shortly after gene Simmons of the group Kiss heard them, thought they were great and gave them the money to make the demo tape that broke the ice. Dance the Night Away... Van Halen"

    Hearing that made me smile

I thought it was I will try to upload it later today if I have the chance. It sounded so weird since the number 39 was "Ring My Bell". It was 1979 I guess, but still very cool

It's a treat anytime a VH song comes on the radio. Even better is when the DJ introduces it.

Even though I have heard Dance the Night Away a million times, it was still a real treat, since this was waaaay back in 1979 when this was first broadcasted. You can even feel from this recording that they really were beginning to light the world on fire. Now, all there is a burnt out ember of what was once a really amazing band.

Yup, they lit the world on fire, but what's left now? The world and the ashes of VH...
