Two points:
#1. Johnny Thunders was never as gifted a guitarist as Ed Van Halen, to begin with, so it's not much of a comparison.
#2. That's not even the worst Thunders footage out there. There was a show presented on USA's "Night Flight" years ago that involved Thunders being so incoherant that he could not even speak, let alone sing. He could barely stand, and kept hitting one chord on an out of tune guitar. (Some of the old Heatrbreakers footage is just as bad, if not worse. Yet occasionaly, they kicked royal ass. Rare in a band full of junkies.)"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

#2: Yeah, I know there's plenty of footage of Johnny beyond fucked up onstage that blows away the clip I linked. That was just the frist one I found last night spending an hour checking out Thunders solo and with the New York Dolls. I had watched the documentary "Dead or Alive" and wanted to check out more stuff on Thunders. And yeah, there's definately some footage and shows out there where Thunders was pretty damn impressive from a pure, down and dirty rock n' roll guitarist's standpoint.

Yeah, interpreter stole all that money that’s him. Yes he’s pretty much a must see player. I don’t know what channel the game is on tomorrow, probably the same one.
