    Default The PERFECT Stomp Box

I used to have one. I've wanted it back for years. This weekend... I took action, boys! I got myself (again) an Ibanez Tube Screamer.

Don't know why I took so long because this little green bitch can moan and wail!!!! She's a raunchy one that gets nasty when you dig in and cleans up real nice when you lighten the touch.

Sounds great through my late 70's Marshall JMP with a Strat or a Paul...a haw haw haw haw.

    Get one. You'll love it.

    Looking for some suggestions.

I play through a 5150 combo, and just use a morley wah. I also have a korg toneworks effects processor, but I don't use it too much, becuase I enjoy the sound that comes from the 5150. I guess I'm looking for a pedal that might give me some sort of delay or something, that might give an extra kick when playing solo's. I've tried a few delay pedals, but they don't acheive the sound i'm looking for. I'm too lazy to mess around with them. I like to keep it simple, and thats part of the reason I really only use the amp and the wah pedal.

Yep on the Keeley stuff. I'm about to pull the trigger on a DS-1 Ultra.

The singer in my band makes fun of me and my gigantic pedal board these days, because just a few years back I was all about "a great guitar in a great amp with a great attitude," and that was it. I would maybe pull out an effects pedal for something very selectively, but it was a rarity. Nowadays I've got 13 things in the pedal board I practice with and take to gigs, and I can honestly say I use almost all of them every time. I think as players we just go through different phases (no pun intended). I still play unplugged most of the time, but when I'm making crazy rock or doing an experimental thing it's fun to have those textures to go to.

    Which model, TS9? I went for TS7 and I don't regret it a bit - it's just a perfect booster for my MT-2

I use a 5150 combo and have gone through using a few pedals to using a POD XTLIVE to front end the amp. Now back to just keeping it simple.

Anyway something that you need to get is a BBE Sonic Maximizer but the pedal version of it. Its incredible and really fills out your sound. Just leave it on all the time. However you can use it to boost your solo's if you wish.

For my rig now I just use a Wah, Phase 90, Delay along with my BBE and a BOSS noise reducer in my effects loop.

Much better sound then using my Line6.

I got the old lime green vintage reissue. It's like the one I owned back in the day.

I thought which one to buy, but I went with TS7 because of two things - twise cheeper cost, and the color (I generaly don't like green and love gray). The price still confuses me, I shud have given the lime green reissue a check to hear the difference. I bet it's an amazing pedal, since even my $39-grey-box completely blows me away.

Yeah... my POD ended up being something I just left lined into the computer for quickly recording song ideas. As much as new technology is allowing for very cool things, I can still hear the "fakeness" of simulated amps, etc.

The Sonic Maximizer is one of the greatest inventions of all time! Right up there with the iPod and sliced bread. I have one in my rack and I love it! Really hard to explain what it does to your sound, though. You just have to hear it.
