Well, Sucka and I have been chasing our tails, trying to fix our PC's thanks to yet another hacking dweeb gaining access through this site, the second in two weeks. This crap removes one's homepage, generally fucking everything up but good.

Now I wonder...with the current fears regarding I.D. theft so prevelant, should I have reason to worry about this now?

Not that I have a pot to piss in to begin with, yet still...

What happened is that when I went to log in this afternoon, I noticed this same crap in a thread. I logged in, then blammo.

Having delt with this last week, I came in through a backdoor: I clicked on "search", made one and logged in through that thread...

I sent Sucka and billy007 PMs regarding the issue, Sucka deleted the thread and then he got slammed, losing (like me) his homepage...

I changed PCs at the library. Not everyone has that option.

In any event, this crap takes over the site...it only gets you when you log on, so if you are merely guesting, it ignores you. Once you are in...

I did manage to send the prick a nasty PM. That felt good.

Yet it would appear all one has to do is register, post some coded gibberish and "boom", they can invoke chaos on a site (not that I would know if that's even possible, I'm beyond ignorant of this stuff, it's merely an observation

).

Like I said, I hope this thing didn't access any other things...

Is that what caused the wierd crap when I tried to come on the site today? I clicked on the forums, got sent somewhere else on the web. Then my virus checker popped up and told me it had blocked and deleted a thread with a trojan virus in it. It happened twice to me earlier in the day.

I'm logged in automatically whenst I open up one of the links in my regular emails since I get them outside of here.

Is that bad? I sure hope not. But so far so good.

chances are it's a bot, replying ain't gonna do any good. it was funny to see FORD go off on one of the spambots at DDLR like it was a real person.

i posted this in the other thread...

here's a tip, anyone registering with an email from Cashette or Gawab dot coms is probably a spambot. i've also been cleaning out anyone whose email ends in ".ru". i realize there may be some legit fans trying to access the site from Russian territories, but when i run the IP and it says "area has a high instance of fraud" i've been tending to be kinda cautious.
