I'm the same age and I remember it, too...fondly. You've gotta remember dude, we're older now and so are they. Unfortunately, nothing great lasts forever. At least we've got the original 6-pack to remember it by...plus a couple of great tunes from the first best-of.

    You guys are old.

I can only imagine what it must have been like to grow up in that era. To be a VH fan when they were rock gods. It really must have been a special feeling, and a rush that I'll never truly ever get to experience. You guys were lucky.

yes, my friend, I am old, and slighlty under the influence of agave, they owned back then, that's why I like when we refer to it as The Dark Side.

I remember that era like it was yesterday and I miss it so much. I remember seeing them in Oakland in Oct. of 1980 at the end of the WACF tour. Fast forward just a little to June of `81 and BOOM! , they were right back in Oakland playing 3 nights on the FW tour. That was an awesome way to start out summertime.

wouldn't this be more of a past issue, than present future? either way, those were the good ole days for sure, and they aren't coming back for sure.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

Yep those were the days. WTF am I talkin' 'bout ??? I got into Van Halen when I saw Jump on MTV back in 1984. At least I saw them with Dave in concert. Damn I must be out there like Pluto, or just a 5150.
    ALEX IS GOD!!!

Wow totally sucks to be you! J/K!

God I miss those days. And yeah I'm one of the ol' fogettes around here. We so took it for granted that they were always gonna be cranking out the albums and touring.

That Fair Warning show in Oakland rocked da casbah (coliseum)!

Thanks for the thread and the memories.

Look at most bands in the late '60's, '70's, and early '80's... Most of them didn't go more than a year or so without a new album and tour... It wasn't up until the mid to late '80's that band would go two, three, or maybe even four years without a new album and tour...

I wish I was a little older than 10 or 11 when VH was touring with Roth... I don't care if he sucked, kicked ass, or whatever, it just would've been cool to say I saw the original lineup...
