    Default A Hint?

I heard a radio commercial today for Dave's upcoming show at the Nugget in Reno. Not sure if the same type of comercial has aired in other areas but I did find it interesting.

It started out with the announcer saying (paraphrasing a bit): "Van Halen dominated the rock and roll scene in the 80's." Then it talks up about Dave coming to the Nugget but all the while playing soley VH tunes in the background.

I just found it funny and interesting that the timing of this ad and the rumors of Dave's re-kindled friendship with Eddie and the seemingly more likely return of Roth to Van Halen.

This was a big departure from all the othe rads for Dave's shows I have heard in years. Anyone else in the Sports Radio KHTK in Sacramento listening area hear this?

I heard on the radio today here in Oly the announcer telling about upcoming shows. Her comment about DLR was along the lines of go see DLR to see if he has anything left...

    Maybe ARMBI is at hand...

LOL, good Lord, are you grasping at straws or what? What are they suppose to talk about his recent stint as a paramedic or the DJ job?

The whole commercial had more of a VH pr hype than a DLR show. It made me wonder.

They are trying to get people to show up...

Yeah, put Hammerhead Shark in the background and DLR will get no one to show up...

If they used DLR solo material only in the ads, he'd be better being the opening act for a puppet show...

It was the way it was worded, not just the music used.

So they said that DLR was the lead singer of VH and that got you thinking of this crap? Come on!

All I heard was a reference to the "former frontman for VH."

Guess time will tell but I'm goin to da show.

Maybe he'll throw us a bone.

I'm sure I am reading way too much into it, but it just struck me as odd at how it was presented.

Well guess time will tell. Haven't seen too many recent reviews of his latest shows. Wonder if he's talkin about it?

I'm anxious to see what Menlow has to say when he gets home from tonight's (Fridays) show in Indy.

Shit I forgot all about that!!

Maybe I best hang around here for a while. That's if he's up to posting a review tonight. Might be tomorrow if he's partying up and enjoying the show properly.

Well maybe I won't be hanging around.

What's so odd..? Since 99 Dave has been touring on a 80%+ Van Halen setlist. Dave is riding his VH legacy fame. No secret about it. It's what sells and puts butts in seats. So it's perfectly logical that advertising with a VH flare would flow... it's actually truth in advertising because that's what you'll get at a 2006 DLR show... Mostly solid Van Halen material. It is what it is...

When I heard ads for the Indy show on Q95 I think all I heard were CVH songs. Now, of the three times I heard a song played by Dave for an advertising thingy, two were actually solo songs which suprised me.
