They said 1988, but I don't know if Howard interviewed them, because I think Gary (Baba Booey) said that HE interviewed them? Not sure how that would have happened though.

It was so fast when they announced it and I just caught it when they said Van Halen, so I could be wrong.

If no one posts it this morning, they replay it in the afternoon and again at night, so someone will have it.

It is from '88. Gary interviewed them backstage at their show, If I remember correctly.

Can't wait to hear the "our most important album yet", "musical soulmate", "enough material for a double album", "hair standing on the back of my neck the music is so good" quotes that accompany every VH interview.

Still, ya had to love the Monsters of Rock Tour. I can't believe it was only 25 dollars to see those bands.

That was an interesting listen.....Gary once upon a time did the interviewing before Stuttering John came along.....here it on the replay if you get a chance. EVH is obviously a fan of the show nowadays. In that press from '88 it sounds like he has no clue who Howard was.

I love the one question directed to the band I'm paraphrasing:

"If you walked into a hot parking lot and a dog was locked up in one car and David Lee Roth was locked up in another...whose door would you unlock? " - Silence - EVH: "We'd keep driving..."

    lol....

Can't we all just get along!
From 3-13 to 10-6 and NFC South Champs.....go Saints!

what was interesting about "Monsters of Rock", and why I think it didn't continue on, is because you had to sit through 20 guitarists imitating Edward before you got to see Edward.

That and I heard somewhere that the cost was huge and the return was not what they expected.

I think they were expecting the huge ticket sales that MOR was getting in Europe and it didn't happen. Still a coold idea that was way ahead of it's time, at least in this part of the world.
