Ok. First of all I'd like to say that I do think Dave's back in VH. But lets look at this whole thing with another perspective.

Maybe my imaginations running a bit wild but lets just assume that Dave was never even approached to do a reunion. Lets assume all this time Van Halen is recording a new album with some new singer, and Dave is recording a new album solo. I know this has been said by a few different people but it does make sense in a way. A lot of people are saying that if Dave was not in VH he would tell us. But its all publicity and if he does release a solo album soon his sales are going to be better thanks to the rumours. Van Halen or Dave have neither denied or confirmed anything so this could be a possibility. Maybe Dave's just bitten the bullet and kept quiet to try and promote his reputation before releasing a new album.

I do think Dave's actually back in VH and that this might be a little far fetched but its an interesting perspective.

What do you guys think. I'm bracing myself for all kinds of criticism so lets have it!!

Thought about it...

Dave putting out a solo album would be the 2nd best thing to Dave putting out an album w/ VH. So I guess if he's not w/ VH then I hope what you're thinking IS true, and I think all of these rumors would help his sales...

It is an interesting perspective, and for me ( big Dave fan) it gives some hope if this VH thing ends up being a bust.

A couple of things.

First off, Dave is, as far as I know, not signed to a major label, so chances are if he was recording solo he'd be footing the bill basically out of his own pocket. So, while I'm sure Dave has lots of money, I doubt he'd be in the studio for such a long time considering how expensive it is to record.

Second, Van Halen has a certain ability to keep recording information secret by virtue of the fact that Edward owns the studio and it's on his property. Dave, on the other hand, would obviously be recording at an outside recording studio, and if he were, chances are the word would get out.

Maybe Dave is recording a solo album at 5150.

I totally agree with your opinion. It was just another interesting way to look at this current situation. Like I said in my previous post, I do think Dave is in VH and this whole topic is a little far fetched but I just thought it would be kind of funny if this was what was really happening while all of us dig ourselves even deeper into this issue by believing all these rumours and not looking at the many other things that may be happening that we are not even considering.

RD - I still think of one thing here - If Dave had rumors circulating about himself that were not true, he'd be numero uno to say so. And quickly at that. He doesn't need nor care for any negative karma after the '96 fiasco.
