Unreal. I'd always held that this sort of thing was unthinkable in Canada, yet it would seem sociopaths exist everywhere.

The last time this happened in Montreal was back in 88 or 89 when that guy shot 27 people in a classroom and killed 14 female engineering students. There was one guy who stormed a provincial legislature, and I think it was Quebec again. Can't think of any other examples that have happened up here. We have problems in Canada with gun violence on a daily basis, but it doesn't last long in the news for people in Canada to realise that it is a big problem.

The title to this topic should be corrected. There's two people dead including the shooter. CNN didn't publicized the correct informations this afternoon.

8 people were confirmed hurt, and the shooter dead this afternoon
immediately after i watched that, cnn was saying 20 people which at that time today was greatly exaggerated.

it could be different right now.

The shooting happened at Dawson College in downtown Montreal this afternoon. 20 wounded people, 8 in critical condition..., 2 dead people (so far) including the shooter who was shot by police.

There's no reason for people to think that there are no incidents like that that can happen in Canada. Montreal is a big city.., about 4 million people live on the Montreal island.

Here in Montreal, we remember very well what happened 17 years ago (in 1989) at Polytechnique, Montreal University where mass killer Marc Lépine killed 14 students..., and 14 years ago (in 1992), at Concordia University, where a teacher killed like 5 other teachers/administrators.

Dawson College is an english speaking school in Montreal..., a around 65% French speaking city.

Read a little about the shooter. He was a loner, dressed in Black , was into Goth and posted on a Vampire site and dug Columbine and played the video game dealing with Columbine. I think his mantra was " die young and leave a mangled corpse". His neighbors said he recently got a mohawk. He also said he had a few friends who he considered good people but most folks were greedy and nasty. They should taken him and dropped his ass in Iraq and told him go get Bin Laden.
