We could only hope. But I don't think Ed has any interest in getting that classic Eddie sound back. At least not from what I've heard. And that's cool, if he's on to a new trip -- I understand.
I just wish he'd venture off and do whatever it is he wants to do without ruining the VH legacy anymore than it's already been ruined.
If you think about it, VH is a running joke to most people (other than us here), and it's all because EVH is an egotistical dickhead who refuses to share the spotlight/credit with anybody. The oddest part about this is, we all saw the results of his "solo" project and well let's just say -- you can't shine shit. Why in the hell is he out there preaching to Stern and his listeners that those are "his songs"?
I will say this, after listening to VH III -- or excuse me, the EVH solo project --- I came away with a much greater appreciation for the input of both Sam, Dave, and the various producers that pulled together VH's music through the years.

These two are as responsible for the success of VH as anyone in the band. Gettingthem back would be great but Eddie clearly thinks he is an engineer now. (All evidence to the contrary)

Donn Landee seems to be hard to find these days. I write a production/engineering column and about five weeks ago I tried to track him down. In the end, I called Sunset Studios and no one there knew where to find him; they thought he was out of the biz. I'd love to know what he's up to. If anyone knows how to get hold of him, please let me know.
