Sammy 11/16/99-09/08/06
My puppy Sammy (Samantha actually, but I had to give her a VH name) passed on yesterday. She gave up a fight against pyometra but it ended up getting the best of her in the end. I hope that the hydrants in heaven are many and there are plenty of Milk Bones.
I love you girl.
Picture to follow but in my sadness I ruined my scanner, in about 50 pieces. No president puts joy in my life, but Van Halen puts joy in my ears.
Never pet a burning dog.

So very sorry to hear of your loss.
Our dog and cat (along with a bird and a fish) are buried in the yard under the trees. After that I haven't had the heart to get attached to any more animals. It was tougher on my kids as well.
Definitely been there and again, so sorry.
EDIT: My sister also had a small dog named Sammy (after the Red Rocker) and she was very attached to him. She babied him so much. Anyways, one day he was gone. Either ran away or got attacked by other dogs. She hasn't had another dog either and to this day still carries pics of him. She does have kids now tho so they're getting all the attention.Last edited by smithjc; 09.10.06 at 02:43 AM.

Im sorry about your loss, I know exactly how you feel. My dog Odin was hit by a car and was killed. It seems like it just happened but it was 10 years ago. I didn't know my wife back then and I swore I would never have another dog ever again. Well, she had a German Shepard when I met her (and still does), he's a great dog but he reminds me so much of Ody so I don't get as close to him as I probably should. I also got her a little dog from the pound here in Yuma, he's a 2 year old doxie/beagle mix, we got him about a year ago. He looks like a mini-beagle with 3 inch legs, kinda like a low rider beagle (which is funny considering we live in Yuma).
Anyway, it takes time but you will feel better again. You gave your puppy a great life so there's nothing to feel bad about, though your going to because you miss 'em.
Wow, I just noticed you live in Boise, my wife is from Idaho and were moving up to Boise within the next 6-10 month's.Last edited by willy4pres; 09.10.06 at 08:06 AM.

Hey T, sorry about your loss man. I had to put my dog down back in november and its one of the worst feelings I have ever felt. She was getting kind of weak (physically) but we couldnt tell because her hair was so fluffy. Anyways, come to find out that she had a tumor in her stomach the size of a watermellon and the vet told us that there wasnt really anything any of us could do. The entire way home, I was holding onto her collar and I didnt let go of it for about 2 hours because she meant so much to me
Hang in there man. The best advice that I can give is to get another puppy. I know its the last thing on your mind right now but I got another border collie back in december and it made the passing alot easier.Facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=504401115

Sorry to hear that, T. I never had pets, but I was so attached to my uncle's rizenschnauzer I was shocked when I heard he run away. Pets can truly be real family members.

Sorry about your loss. It sucks to lose a pet, because they do not become like family, they are family.
I also had a dog named "Sam", but the name had nothing to do with Van Halen. I came home one night to find him dead in my front yard, and to this day I don't know what happened to him. I cried like a little baby that night.
We are now the proud owners of a dog, Haley (Named after Van Halen somewhat.), two cats, Anakin and Padme, and two fish, Bugsy and Vinny.

Wow, I just looked up Pyometra.
It is a pus buildup in the Uterine cavity.

He was wiping boogers on the Resolute Desk, telling Trump to shush, that his dad was president.. I wonder where he heard that from..
