wow...very nice. i can't get quite that close:

    1984 (Portland)
    5150 (Portland)
    5150 (Portland)
    Monsters (Seattle)
    OU812 (Portland)
    FUCK (Portland)
    Balance (Portland)
    Balance (New Orleans)
    III (Dallas)
    BOBW (San Jose)
    BOBW (Sacramento)
    BOBW (Oakland)

My favorite show was probably III. It was like seeing a new band, kind of. Since I'd only seen the Dave years once, and Sam played the same few Dave songs almost every tour. I just remember being freaked out finally hearing songs like Mean Street, Unchained, Feel Your Love Tonight, Somebody Get Me a Doctor, Dance The Night Away, etc...Seemed, really, really cool to me at the time.

I'd have to agree with that. Say what you will about the tour, but it was pretty cool hearing those old gems.

Favorite: Hmmmm, tough one. I love the 5150 Tour but I had crappy seats (I was 12 at the time) so I'd go with 1993 Jones Beach. It was the first show I ever had really good seats as a friend hooked me up with 18th row seats, and JB is a great place to see a show as the floor is sloped up (like a movie theatre) and the seats were right on the aisle so there was no one really in my way.

And the future was soooooo bright for VH at the time.......

I liked the newness of the 5150 tour and there was something special about it being the first time I saw them. 2nd favorite would have to be the III show at Pine Knob. I was so burnt on Sammy singing the same setlest for years and skipping over Roth era songs that I actually passed on the Balance Tour.

Dates are in the sig. Favorite is tough. 1984 and III. 1984 with Dave was great to see plus it was my first show at 11 years old. VHIII because I finally got to meet them and have a great 8x10 of my wife and I with them.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

    OU812 (Worcester)
    FUCK (Worcester)
    RHRN (Great WOods)
    Balance (Worcester)
    Balance (Providence)
    Balance (Great Woods)
    III (Boston)
    BOBW (WOrcester)
    BOBW (East Rutherford)

    Two favorites -

1a. FUCK in Worcester - I had shitty seats to OU812, but on this one I got 16th row seats on the floor, took my girlfriend (now wife), and was completely blown away - I had never seen anything like it. Fur raising experience.

1b. Balance in Worcester - I actually went by myself - had 2 14th row floor seats right in front of Ed, and couldn't get anyone to go with me! Unbelievable, magic night. I kept thinking, this is a fully mature band in their prime - so tight, so powerful, so dead on perfect. I was just sitting there watching Ed go off for an hour and a half with my jaw hanging open. Providence the next night was the same show, but it just didn't have that same magic. Don't know why. I think others on here who were there had similar thoughts.

I also thought it was cool seeing the old tunes on the III tour, but Gary just didn't have the impact or presence that Sam did, and the new stuff was simply inferior to what I'd come to expect.

BOBW NJ will stand out because it was, and may be, the last time I saw them, and I took my older brother, who had never seen them live. It's a shame that was his first and only show since it wasn't them at their best, but it was fun to see him still be blown away. I think we'd all gotten a bit spoiled; that 2004 tour may have paled in comparison to prior VH tours, but it was still an amazing experience for at least some of those who had never seen them live.

IMO, bad VH still beats just about anything else. Guess that's why I'm a fan.
