You've got to wonder what is happening when 21 kids participate in something like that. Courage to do the right thing apparently isn't a big thing among Milwaukee parents.

The story from a couple of days ago about the 20 year old guys digging up a 20 year old girl's dead body in order to have sex with it was pretty out there, too.

Dude, I take exception to that...there's fucked up parenting all over the place. Mke is no different, but to generalize like that is offensive... I know you probably (hopefully) didn't mean it that way, but as a parent (near Mke), I would hate to have everyone view me as a piece of shit like this...

I can't imagine what those kids where thinking....Milwaukee is one of the coolest cities that I have ever been too. This shit happens all over the place, even when parents aren't to blame.

It happened in Milwaukee, did it not? Nobody ever wants to take responsibility. I'm not saying you're a bad parent, I'm obviously saying that there are parents of at least 21 kids in Milwaukee that are obviously bad parents.

Maybe if there was a little more willingness to point the finger and condemn, there'd be a little more willingness to buck up and do the right thing. If you find that offensive, well, that's your misplaced sensibility. It happened in your community. Your community needs to take a look at itself and find out why. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen anywhere else, but it happened where it happened.

Morality and moral courage need to be taught to kids. Apparently that hasn't happened in the lives of these particular kids.

Whatever man. I'm supposed to take responsibility for what these kids did? I'm just as responsible for this as you are. Why narrow it to the Milwaukee, why not WI? Why not the US as a whole? Mike, this crap has been on the rise all across the country. We had an incident in South Monterey County with 5 men raping a 14 year old.

It's most likely the latest gang thing, the incidents I'm aware of in Chicago and elsewhere in California have been gang related.

Lets face it, if a kid is in a gang he never had a responsable parent in the first place. I do agree that the folks in Milwaukee should demand the harshest penalties and new laws to make prison terms longer for this crap.

It's not very different from saying that Detroit has a bad reputation for crime. Do people in Detroit dislike crime? You bet. Do they dislike it as much as it's disliked in, say, Fargo? Probably not, as they allow it to go on in their city.

A person can sit back and claim that it's an isolated incident, or they can think a little about how and why it happened and what might need to change. Where do you fall in, Kula? What about your neighbors? Is it a problem that "somebody" else deals with, or do members of the community start to take a look at how and why this happened?

How's the community of Milwaukee going to deal with this?

Unfortunately, we're past the days of lynch mobs and hangings. So, we must rely on our ever so efficient government systems. We elect the appropriate officials, we educate people, we take hands on roles in our communities and do what we can do to better ourselves and each other.

It's called humanity. There's good and there's bad. Unfortunately the bad always hit the headlines and the good get overlooked.

People allow it to happen? Crime? Rape? What is the solution? Have people give their itineriaries for the day? We don't let it happen - it happens. People, by nature are selfish, and often stupid. All we can do is educate and reinforce positive behavior and show right vs. wrong. Those who don't get it should be SEVERELY punished...but in this politically correct bullshit era, people never PAY for their crimes. In the end, they're somehow the victim and get off with doing community service or some other bullshit.
