Planet US on hold...

Sounds to me like no record company would touch this project... so they had to put it on "hold".
Which considering how much record sales MA, Sam and Neal are responsible for is really telling about the state of the record industry right now. I mean these guys have made millions of dollars for Sony and Warner and their back catalog sales are still paying the salaries of some of the guys currently working at those firms, and Planet US can't get signed???

So Sam's releasing his DVD. It's cool, but it just means that he's going down the nostalgia road big time, with a greatest hits again and a tour with [img]graemlins/yell.gif[/img] Skynyrd...

Planet US was the only hope for us fans to get some NEW music from the Van Halen "family". It seems it's not gonna happen, not for lack of wanting to do it from the guys, but for some business reasons.
And with DLR's loony DVD not even getting released ever, prospects for new music are slim.

I'm just whipping out my Audioslave CD coz it seems our old timers are not allowed to release new music anymore...

Maybe they just don't want to. Mikey's a pretty decent bass player and I'm sure he can do some interesting work, but why isn't he? He could certainly do something new...jazz oriented maybe? But it seems all these guys want to do is re-use all their tiring material to death. Sammy bashes Dave for thinking it's 1984...but I don't see Sammy doing anything other than what he did in fucking 1984.
Dave is kinda trying to be "creative" with that bbq video, but let's be honest...it ain't very good.
Sorry, but I could really care less about what any of them are doing outside of working with Eddie or Alex Van Halen. Even Planet Us isn't much to write home about. Oh well. [img]graemlins/sleep.gif[/img]
