A question I want to pose to you all.....

Hi all,
Thanks for the positive feednack over the past months.
Now here's an interesting question for you all.

Nearly a month ago I said on my site that I would go away and come back with a new Van Halen report of facts and facts only.

That has been a harder task than I anticipated. Not that I actually expected it to be easy [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
While I have several pages of what appears to be hot new information and also general hearsay, I cannot get anyone to go on record, nor can I independently verify the absolute accuracy of these reports.

That cannot be done due to several reasons:
Namely -
1. These few 'sources' don't want their names to be implicated for fear of retribution. There is also the chance they are false reports.

2. The information may be accurate at the time, but the feeling I am clearly getting is that this situation is changing so often, it's hard to keep up with what is still currently correct.

3. No one officially connected to anyone connected to Van Halen will talk to me about anything!
That includes Diamond Dave Enterprises, Sammy Hagar's management, Gary Cherone's assistants and of course, VH themselves.

4. Only Van Halen and these people really know what is going on for sure.

So with that in mind - What I want to know is - do you, as fans of the band, want to see another big report on all these updates and rumours, or do you want to wait indefinitely to try and get official confirmation on the details I have?

Much of it, if reported, will no doubt be proved right or wrong in the fullness of time, but does printing such stories aggravate your frustrations, or will it help pass the time?

If printed - this update could be the greatest single news update on the band in the past 2 years, or it could be the fattest piece of pure fiction seen on the Internet in the past 5 years!

To be honest with you - I don't know how accurate the info is, but I have been e-mailing a few contacts back and forth for several weeks now. To date, they have asked me NOT to print the info. That's one good sign. Generally if I get an e-mail saying PRNIT THIS HOT NEWS! it gets deleted.
This report would not be from one anonymous report e-mailed to me out of the blue and then printed for the fun of it.
It will be a collection of stories, news, events, data and several of my own personal hunches, insihgts, opinions and discoveries.

So - it's up to you guys!
E-mail me or reply to this - do you want this printed now as it is (or will be), or would you like me to hold off further and try for something more confirmed with quotes and credits?

The only fun we've had with this band lately has been due to speculation and rumor. The FACTS that we have suck rocks. I, for one, would like to see such a report posted, knowing FULL WELL that it could all be BS or it could all be true.

Hell, you could have documented info straight from the band and most people would refuse to believe it! Then again, the band kinda asked for that.

Anyway, one vote FOR such a report here! AND, if you don't post it, you could always email it to me and I'll promise to keep my mouth shut! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I have no problem with you reporting this info that you have, whether it turns out to be fact or fiction. We need something to talk about here at the Links. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Of course if this info turns out to be what people don't want to hear, there will always be a little criticism. But I think your site has enough respect to bypass that.

If your sources don't want you to print their info on your website, why do they send it to you? Report away I say.

Go for it, Andrew. I'm interested to see what you've been able to gather (rumor or truth). What you print can't be any worse than waiting for news from VH.

Here's an idea, just create a new user name & post it over in the rumor mill. It’ll give us something to discuss for awhile & you can protect your name in the process.....if that's even a concern for you.
