"House" on Fox...

The season premiere of "House" is tonight (Sept. 5th). Anyone else watch this show?
Gregory House is a doctor in charge of clinic in a New Jersey hospital. He is crippled (through a medical mistake, some muscle in his leg was destroyed), cranky, arrogant, insufferable, cares little for the feelings of others and is absolutely brilliant.

It really is quite a compelling show, probably my favorite.

In the season finale, House was shot, and the entire episode was his hallucination(sp)/dream. Tonight we find out if he lived (duh...).

It may seem like a simple brain anurism brought on by years of stress, smoking, alcohol abuse, and lack of exercise. Not to mention the patients severe hatred for her own mother.
But did you check the date on the box of Cracker Jacks in the patients food pantry? Cracker Jacks contain Eboflavin, which is a direct dirivitive of maseoplasma, which after it breaks down over time can enduce cardioemploplasmy.

The mrs. started watching this a coupla years ago and while not technically "watching" it (don't really care for medicals shows with all their needles and scalples and hemogloben), I'd nevertheless be in my chair (usually with laptop in lap) and found the character of Dr. Gregory House to be well written (or at least written to my liking). So now I watch. I just turn away when there's something medical to be done!

Agreed Kemosabe!! Next to 24, the best show on the (non-cable) tube.

I tell my wife that I wish this show would just go away. But if I was completly honest I would say that while the show is retarded (do these people ever have a regular day at work?) that dude plays that part like he invented acting.

I dunno...his leg gets fixed (maybe) and he gets even more nuts. Liked the shot of him stealing a prescription for Vicodin at the end.

I hope this show doesn't get fucked up. Next week: "Alien DNA" (I'm dead serious.)

Nah, too early for gimmicky shark-jumping. The ratings are great, so they do not have to reach too far to keep an audience yet.

I am sure it will be akin to the episodes with the supposed "faith healer" (House vs. God) and the episode with the kid with night terrors. As you know things are often not as they are initially perceived.

I love this show and Hugh Laurie kicks ass. In fact, to hear him speak using his native English accent is sort of a let down. He sounds kind of fruity, really. He nails the "American" accent, although he does not sound like someone from NJ.

The amazing thing about this guy is I can go back and watch the old Black Adder episodes with Hugh's natural accent intact, and then turn on "House" never once thinking "Hey, it's the Prince Regent."

Funny little nugget here.....according to IMDB.com

During Hugh Laurie's audition, David Shore says that Bryan Singer, one of the executive producers, said, "See, this is what I want: an American guy." Singer was completely unaware of the fact that Laurie is English.

I had the same reaction hearing Christian Bale speaking in his natural english accent after only seeing him in Batman Begins and American Psyhco.
