I've been trying to get some more work done on my right arm lately. It has taken quite a while for me to find what I want. I've spent several weeks of surfing the web and books, etc piecing different concepts together. I truly believe that is the way to do it. You have to develop a theme and build on it and NEVER take something off the wall of the tattoo shop.
Anyway, I have visited my shop that I have had work done at before and they have been putting me off for about 2 weeks due to them being too busy or blah blah blah ... personally I think the place is run by some young punks who just don't care but anyway...whatever...
So tonight I decide to take my business to another shop that I have gotten a tattoo from before and that I trust. So I show up at this place about 7:15pm which is VERY early so I shouldn't have any problem since they close about midnight. They take me in and start to look at my image (nothing earth shattering here ... just a cross with flames that outline a silhouette of a girl) After about 1 hour talking about the tattoo, color, size etc... the tattoo guy goes in the back and spends like 45 minutes in the back room getting this image prepared to place on my arm and whatever else they do. The chick running the register tells me if I pay cash they wont charge me tax but if I use my debit card I will have to pay $23 tax. (the tattoo is costing me $250-it's a big one) So I ask her if I can run down the street and get some cash from the ATM. She says that is totally ok. Meanwhile my tattoo guy is going to do someone elses tattoo that will take him like 30-40 minutes while I'm gone. When I return 20 minutes later this dude is hanging outside smoking and talking to some friends. He says to me, man I wont be able to get you until 11pm and I really don't feel like working until 1am so can you come back tomorrow or Sunday ... I basically told him to F*&$ off and that he just lost a $50 tip. I can't believe it. I have decided that I am giving up on the new tattoo idea for now. It just isn't meant to be for some reason. I've never had so much trouble trying to get something done in my life. Maybe it's a sign or something. It still sucks to waste 3 hours on a Friday night and end up at square one once again!!

Totally unrelated story, but:

I sacrificed my body once to get two of my other friends free tattoos. The deal was that if I get a tattoo that made the guy laugh (a portrait of Bob Saget with SAGET IS GOD above it with hearts underneath), then my friends and I would get any tattoo for free.

So, I sit through the tattoo and I get Bob Saget's face on my leg. My friends notice that I bled a little and it looked like it hurt. So they decide not to get tattoos after all. I wound up using my other free tattoo to get the Bob Saget covered up. Now it looks like a magic eye with Bob Saget's face.

That sucks Warmoth. I hope you can find a good tattoo place where you live and get your work done.

I just so happens that Iwill be going today to get my arm done. My left arm from my elbow to my hand will be totally tribal after today and a few other sittings. It's currently about 1/4 trib....I want to feel the spaces with shades of green & red.

I'm really looking foward to getting this started....I've been meaning for a few years to finish it up.

Sorry to hear that man. That's exactly what I've had to deal on a few occasions over the past couple of weeks, and not to mention LONG drives to and from the the tattoo place for nothing. Finally last night I get someone committed and working on my stuff then they bail on me after 3 hours because they didn't feel like working until 1 am. That's the problem with Nashville. These places close at 10pm on weeknights and Sundays. 11pm or so on Friday and Saturday.... crazy. I miss going to New Orleans.... nothing like getting ink done at 3am and sleeping in until 2pm the next day.

I got my work started today! I'm really happy with what my tattoo artist was able to do. He connected two seperate old tribal pieces that I previously had and put a new piece between them. I'm going back in 3 weeks to get the forearm part of my left arm done. Then after that I'm going to add some color to it and make a full sleve out of it. These are of my left arm.

Ive actually been thinking heavily about getting a few done. Something along the lines of sharks-dragons-guitars. Here are a few pictures that Ive found:

This one is actually more "cute" than cool and ive been lookin for a better picture of a dragon playin a guitar


This is going on my shoulders or something similar. I always pictured the head of a dragon on one shoulder, the body and wings stretching across my shoulders and back and having the tail on the other shoulder.


Heres one that really gave me some inspiration. Its a poster but I figured it would be cool if I could turn it into a tattoo somehow. Liz is crazy about fairies and im a nut for dragons so I thought it was very fitting how it kind of related to us lol
