2006 NFL thread

It's September! Kickoff is only 6 days away! It's time to cut the third and fourth stringers and get down to bidness! The preseason is winding down, and starting Thursday we will spend the next 17 weeks finding out who will be the 12 finalists for the Super Bowl - no "Survivor", no "American Idol" - this is the only reality tv we need this fall.

I expect good seasons from the squads in Tampa Bay and Jacksonville, as well as the usual consistent performance out of New England. I get to miss the first weekend of games while I attend my brother-in-law's wedding, but I'll be there for the rest of the ride.

Down, set...

I am so ready for this years season! I have no expectations for Green Bay going anywhere, but I do have all the reason to be excited about the Broncos chances!!

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about my Bills this year. No, I don't think they can contend right off, but they have built a monster of a young core that may rival the old SB teams. Losman, Evans, and McGahee are getting better by the snap, and they had an amazing draft (once you get past all the moron "experts" who thought Whitner was a reach-yeah, he has the speed of a corner, the hitting ability of the best safeties, and is one of the smartest out there). Five of those guys will be starters in the next few years on D alone. We still have the best ST.

The quicker they get their act together, the quicker they contend. They'll probably be around .500, depending on how inconsistent Losman ends up. Game 1 at NE will answer a lot of questions, but it will be fun!

Wonder what the Dolphins plan to do with Sammy Morris when he returns from suspension?
Jim Rome was asking which excuse Morris would use of the usual ones available for discovery of steroids in a test:
#1. The trainer put it on me
#2. I don't know how they got there
#3. I was drinking Jack Daniels and beer
#4. I thought it was something else...

I do not make excuses for anyone that fails a test like this, but I guess Morris took pseudophed... Pseudophedrine the opedrine is what got him from what I understand... Pseudophed is for sinus problems. Who knows what the truth is...but that would stink if it were the case. Pseudophedrine Hydrochloride.

See, this is what stinks about the local press: Although the story broke here (S. Fl) yesterday, there is no mention of the details, only the "sensational" aspects of the incident.

Sorry, but the Cowboys will win the NFC East this year! But I will say this...I would always rather the Giants win the NFC East rather than the Eagles of the Deadskins!

Well tuff luck with that cause the Eagles have a huge chance at taken the crown again for the NFC east. Pinkstons gone, Detmer is finally gone, Buckhalter is back and HEALTHY, and we finally have some weapons in wide reciever.
