Well, great fucking news, sports fans - just got laid off today...BASTARDS. PERFECT FUCKING TIMING with the new bambino here and moving into a new place this weekend. I'm so pissed, I can TASTE it.

The old bastard (who claims to be the world's biggest 'Christian'

) that owns the place and happens to have more money THAN GOD, decides to be a tight-ass...

Can't BELIEVE how far backwards I've bent over for those fucks and to get treated like this, of all times. Talk about feeling USED...jeez...

Sorry for the venom but I just had to vent. Part of me is happy that I can hopefully move on to greener pastures but I gotta say, I'm really scared that I might not be able to find a new gig soon enough to keep my ass out of the wolves' mouths.

Ain't life just grand?

Sweetie, I'm thinking this is a blessing in disguise. You've hated that job for so long. Believe me, despite all the crap I've been going thru and dealing with, doors keep opening to the point that I keep begging for clearer direction as to which choices I should make. I'm grateful to even have the choices, and I know you will have the same - no worries. Try not to get too stressed, clear your head and do what ya gotta do. It will work out for you. I'm truly sorry to hear about your job Six. Rocket's right, perhaps someone on the boards will have a lead to something even better. Will you at least be able to draw unemployment while you're looking? I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason and this could be a great opportunity for you to find a job you really love.

Maybe you could start a thread titled Looking for a job in Texas or something that would draw attention to it right away about what you need. Networking at it's finest.

Nothing as far as I know. They told me they were downsizing. I DO know I was probably making twice what everyone else there is. I guess the old man decided he was tired of paying me that much...

If you were simply laid off, you should certainly be able to collect unemployment until you find something else, since you did nothing wrong. Also, your unemployment will be dependent on your previous pay, I believe, so if you made good money, you should be able to collect enough to make do for a little while.

Who the heck was on that list? I forgot. Paw, Six, me...others, too. It was gonna be a waverunner rental/fishing/hula lesson/web design/t shirt/ribs and waffles shop, if I recall right. I was gonna stake the start-up, everybody else was gonna pick a department and get cracking on product, advertising, and distribution.

I'll, um, test the waverunners every morning. And hire the Hawaiian babes for the hula lessons...or maybe some of our resident VH skanks might certify in the art of belly-shaking and join us...maybe.
