Survivor: Cook Islands

So, I haven't seen a thread on this one yet. Has Survivor jumped the shark? 4 teams divided on race: a caucasion, a black, a lation and an Asian....wow, wonder who thought up this one. A ploy for ratings? Will you watch?

It's a gimmick that I think will drive the ratings for the show pretty high.

BTW....I guess the Survivor after this one will feature teams of lesbians, gays, bi's, and straights.....now that would be a ratings juggernaut!

I think the teams divided by race is a HORRIBLE idea. Nothing like ENCOURAGING people to choose one race over another. It's unbelievable to me that this idea was approved.

I do not plan on watching this season. But only because I just don't do Survivor anymore.

whats the big deal? they separated by sex and age last year and it was no big deal. plus they only did it for one or 2 episodes before they merged them into 2 tribes. a lot of hub bub about nothing.
i'll be watching not because of that but because i have seen all the prior survivors and enjoy the show.
its being blown way overboard.

Well, it doesn't matter to me. We have a pool at work and we draw names, so I could get anybody. It's really only interesting to watch if you have someone to pull for and I'm going to pull for whoever I draw and against anyone who annoys the shit out of me -- paging Boston Rob and his ilk.

I haven't watched the past few seasons mainly because I haven't been involved in a pool. I did watch tonight's episode and it looks like it could be a good season. I'm sure they'll pull the typical cheesy gimicks as usual, but it should be fun...
