My friend is getting me the remasters a little early (that's still not soon enough for me ) and she had to clear it with her boss. Check out this email she just sent me...

"Okay...so he just asked me what happened with the CD order for the re-masters. I am ordering them myself...I got two copies of
everything...yay! But that is not what is important. He thought I was talking about the NEW album. So I said "NO NO NO...I am talking about the re-masters of the first 6." Don't get excited though. I then FREAKED and said "you have a release date for the NEW album????"....then he said "No, they are still in the studio...5150 with David Lee Roth, they did some mastering in New York and
went back to finish up." So I say "you think we'll see it this year?"...he says "maybe by November but at the rate they are going who knows...it's slow as shit".

November does make sense because that's qualifying time for the Grammys.
Who knows..just little info for ya. Sorry it wasn't better and you'll probably tell me YEAH YEAH I KNOW THIS ALREADY. Oh and he also said that the re-masters are going to be great....they put a lot of money behind them."


there you have it, folks.

as i suspected, the work that was done here in NY was mastering, and the recording is going on at 5150 like usual. good to hear they pumped some effort into the remasters. i hope to have them shortly and let you guys know how they sound.

this is all good news, though!

That's good news to hear. I've been enjoying a lot of good ol' classics on the radio lately (even heard I'm the One), but have pretty much given up on a new release anytime soon. Thought maybe Sept., but in time for Christmas will make me happy.
