Default Guitar tapping that even Ed would marvel at

I'd never seen or heard of this guy until today and all I can say is, wow. This is some sick shit. It's 3 minutes long but give it at least the first minute. Pretty amazing.

And no, this is not Stanley Jordan. This guy makes Stanley Jordan look like a child.

VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

I've seen that video a bunch of times. There is another player named Justin King who plays in a similar style (and also has an alternate pop career like John Mayer). Here's a video of him.

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...&q=justin+king

They both kind of took Michael Hedges a step further. It doesn't impress me nearly as much as Stanley Jordan. He's a real master with a truly original style. Don't be so quick to put him down. You could learn King or this guy a lot sooner than Jordan.

The rhythm player in my band takes a percussive acoustic solo like that. He uses less tapping and more slapping though. It sounds very impressive. He actually started doing it before he ever heard these guys. Once you get a groove, alternating banging on the body of the guitar and slapping the neck, you can start adding fills around it. It kind of builds up and sounds harder than it really is if you know what I mean.

This guy has a nice technique and plays a beautiful melody...........but I'll take Ed's tapping stuff on his Live w/o A Net solo anyday.

I gotta disagree, relative to this guy taking the Hedges thing further. I still have not heard a player do more with that style than Micheal Hedges ,RIP.. Aerial Boundaries to me, is still levels beyond compositionally and rhythmically, there are tons of dudes with that style that may throw a few more chops in there, but compositionally no one has ever come close. That album is getting on 25 years old and still sounds like the future... I was very fortunate to see him live 3 times, one of the most gifted players I have ever heard.
