Easy home recording through computer programs
If something like this is posted somewhere, please direct me to it. I had a couple questions. My guitar friend out in LA has a cool guitar program on is Apple computer. I think it is called Garage Band. Does anyone on here use any similar programs and could recommend something to me that is easy and user friendly for a PC?
thanks.Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up right alongside it. DLR

id recommend getting yourself a pod with usb connectivity, and then go from there.
i use a pod and fruity loops for my music, if you want to hear it please go to www.soundclick.com/patricklukens. Everything except for guitar was midi programmed in fruity loops.

I am using a soundblaster live card and the Cakewalk Sonar program with great results and it is pretty easy to use. Cakewalk Sonar is cool because I can program my drum and bass tracks without having to record them. I then laydown my rhythem, lead and vocals. Sonar has all the effects anyone could ever want and there are tons of add ons you can download free. Give it a try! Oh you will need to go by radio shack and grab the adapters to plug your standard guitar cable into your sound card.
That suit is you!

if your using linux you have tons of free tools available.
ardour for a multitracker and hydrogen for comping rhythm are the easiest ways to get started.

For ease of use, it's hard to beat Apple's GarageBand. I have a buddy who has made some recordings in a fully-loaded pro studio, and he has admitted on more than one occasion that he has a hard time distinguising between those recordings, and the ones they whipped up with GarageBand.
Hmm, thousands on studio time, or spend $600 or so on a Mac and get GarageBand for free..?

Fuck hiring. They just need to cut out the deadwood. Push/Force lower paid talent to take up the slack or be gone also. It will still be the same anti conservative woke bikini meeting spot....
